deaths doorstep

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:42 pm

so I was looking through deaths doorstep and cvame to one conclusion....wow this is one dirty mod

things I found

the "evil" 72 gmst
dirty references: cells to dagon fel, bitter coast etc, were there need no be as well as topics
missing icons
textures not showing properly
the crossbow firing error

and so forth

and additionaly mild annoyances
display items-no pick up armor and weapons but not being marked as such
death has a insanely high barter level i.e when you sell items to him he give a insanly low amount of gp dispite how high of cost the items are

and others

anyways I was wondering about working on it and repairing ( I would nee permisson of course to host) but I have never done any scripting, texturing or meshes before, so what should I do ?

What does the readme say regarding reuse? I would say that so long as permission is given to use resources, you would be fine to modify it and upload it to the same hosting sites that the original one is on and give appropriate credit you would be fine. Rogue_Shadow's a nice guy.

There many Tutorials that are available for the CS at least. Try the Tamriel Rebuilt Cite and find their tutorials to start with. As far as modeling is concerned, which program would you be planning to use?

Blender is an excellent program for mesh creating. nistic.com has a lot of tutorials for it in addition to the one's you'll find at the blender site. After that you should look for more on utube though, make sure to cover UV mapping. For texture editing/Creating Gimp is (I think) the best alternative to Photoshop that is free, also there is Deep Paint. I've not made it to Nifscope yet, but I imagine that there are tutorials out there. If not, some should be made.
