Dovakiin For Emperor (Instead of 'Ringo for President')

Ah, I thought Orsinium originally bordered Skyrim and the Nords had a hand in their loss of territory. Guess not

Then, that brings about the question how men and mer started fighting each other?

Whoever did it, it matters not, in the grand scheme of things - all that matters is that it was sacked, and has been many times, but Orcs always bounce back, always.

Why?It's quite clear.

Merethic Era:Start:ME 2500 ;End ME 1 (Yes it's backward) During the late Merethic Era the Nords arived with Ysgramor in one wave(Not the first, nor was Sarthaal the only settlement). And humans already lived on Tamriel before the Atmorans arrived.

1. Era :Start:1E 0 ;End 1E 2899.

I would have to say the Simulacrum. Having someone pose as the Emperor for a decade, and then purposely starting wars and bringing chaos. Was a big detriment for the Empire.

I'd say post-Tharn as well. Uriel tried his best, and to his credit did damn well after the fact, but everything started going towards its inevitable conclusion, and could of swung that way without the Mythic Dawn interfering. Seems that a lot of people knew which way the wind was blowing by the time Morrowind rolled around. Er, or rather ancient Telvanni Councilors and an avatar of the Talos at least.

If it weren't for the reformation of the Dominion, the Mede's may have had a chance...maybe. Who knows what the hell the Elder Council wants at this point.

It kind of baffles me that many, including Bethesda, seem to be treating the Mede Empire as a continuation of the Septim Empire. It's not! The Septim Empire had already fallen when Titus Mede took the Imperial City. I would say the Fourth Empire probably started declining during the reign of Titus Mede II's father/predecessor. More information of the Mede emperors is needed, of course. However, if you look at it the Mede Empire cannot have always been weak. How did it survive for 200 years? How did Titus Mede's descendants conquer several of the lost provinces, like Hammerfell and Elsweyr, if the empire was weak?

But, by the time the Great War started, the Empire was not ready for war. My theory is that Titus Mede II was a young man at the time and had just ascended to the throne. I honestly don't think he's that incompetent that he would weaken the Empire's defences with a major threat along the entire southern border. So, my theory is that the previous emperor was an incompetent fool who neglacted the army. I really think that Bethesda should add another volume or two to the Brief History of the Empire series.

Alternatively, the decline could have started with the loss of Elsweyr following the Void Nights.

....They didn't.Elsweyr never left until the AD moved in and Hammerfell was still part of the Empire, same with Skyrim and High Rock.

It started with Simulacrum, however I think after Simulacrum it was declining as in weakened, but still had a chance of recovery and wasn't mortally wounded. I think it was the events of Oblivion that made the Empire still weakened by Simulacrum to actually becoming mortally wounded- no longer just severely weakened but mortally wounded this time, then the events of Skyrim have basically speed up the advancement of the mortal wounds of the Empire. I predict in TES 6, there's a high chance the Empire will only be an empire in name, no longer being powerful enough to be a true empire anymore, and that the Thalmor are likely to become the new dominant empire of Tamriel. How long their reign will last, how powerful they'll become, or if a future third empire eventually replaces the Thalmor, is all up to debate.

I don't think the Empire is going to make a comeback, although considering it's seeming eventual downfall, I think the Thalmors days are also limited.

SPOILER ALERT

well the big decline started when Darth Vader through Emperor Palatine down the power shaft...........after that Luke Skywalker started the New Jedi Order.....and lot of warlords tried to take over the empire and almost succeeded....then the the Yuuzhan Vong invaded from another galaxy and almost wiped the empire & the rest of the galaxy....The invasion began approximately 25 galactic standard years after the Battle of Yavin,....if it was not for Luke Skywalker by transferring the Living Planet Yuuzhan'tar ( Zonama Sekot) to Coruscant...........drawing the Yuuzhan Vong fleet to the planet........and allowing Ben Solo to kill the Supreme Overlord and ending the war......that's episode 3 of the new trilogy ........giggles

Pellaeon: "The Emperor was not directing the battle. Not in any way. I was there, Admiral—I know."

Admiral Thrawn: "Yes, Captain, you were there. And it's time you gave up your blindfold and faced the truth, no matter how bitter you find it. You had no real fighting spirit of your own anymore—none of you in the Imperial Fleet did. It was the Emperor's will that drove you; the Emperor's mind that provided you with strength and resolve and efficiency. You were as dependent on that presence as if you were all borg-implanted into a combat computer."

so the you all have the truth of how the empire really started to decline after the Emperor's death that connection was broken...........giggles

May the Dominion be with You

Steam, if you have it :). Search for the Group "United League of Orcists" (ULOG for short!).I've always found Orcs intriguing, and for some reason, I've been able to connect with them, maybe on the concept that Beauty is only skin deep, (as Orc's may not look like much, but they have beauty in craft and battle, on in my case, that they are beautiful on the outside aswell).

My Orcish persona is like a Breton in an Orc's body - An orc whom fights with quill and ink better than a battleaxe, one who had a relative Ok grasp of English, but isn't to good on spelling and grammer, and maybe feels like an outsider from his kin, like I, in a way.

Also, if you haven't seen my piece "On Orcism", you should definitely look at it

My choice on when the Empire started to decline isn't available on the poll.

The Empire's decline began in 3E 120 during the War of the Red Diamond.

Heck, I strongly recommend reading the Brief History of the Empire series (Volumes 1-4). Once you read that, you realize the Empire's default state is near collapse. Stability is fleeting and rare.

Honestly, after Tiber Septim died. A case can be made for after Katariah died. There were rebounds here and there but disasters like War of Red Diamond, the failed invasion of Akavir, the Simulacrum all propelled it into exponential decline. The Oblivion Crisis and the end of the Septim Dynasty were the last nails in the coffin. And while I still support the Empire of Man the Mede Dynasty are akin to political necromancers clinging to the once great corpse of the Empire.

Not sure why Mannimarco would care. He's basically a twisted Aedra and despite "dying" at the end of it, his war against the Mage's Guild during the Oblivion Crisis resulted in the total collapse of the guild and his revenge complete.

Four hundred years after Tiber Septim's reign, the beginning will meet the end, and the bloody circle will close in the Empire of Tamriel. The unworthy heirs of the Septim Dynasty have allowed the bonds of the Empire to weaken and crack. Uriel Septim the Seventh cannot repair what his ancestors ignored. The provinces fight among themselves like neglected children, drunk with rebellion, and one indomitable power hides itself, but not forever.

"... as The Elder Scrolls predicted, the bloody wheel has nearly turned all the way back to anarchy."

The decline began in previous centuries, but it overtook the dynasty with the Simulacrum. Red Year closes that circle.

Personally I think the Oblivion crisis. There are theories that Daedra were within the Empire. It's a bit weird Daedra wanted people in the Empire dead unless they were recruiting. Say an anti-Imperial secretly was connected to Daedra and if Daedra killed people he wanted dead in the empire (while he also joined to get info) the Daedra could grow even more.
