Decapitation DEFINITELY Confirmed (as by Pete)

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 2:05 am

have an option to turn it off. Maybe even put it under 'parental controls'?

huh? Are u serious? Its rated M. Thats all the control you need. Crumb snatchers shouldn't be playing the game anyway.

As long as the perk is actually useful and not only aesthetic, that's good news.

If the perk isn't over-top and doesn't occur all the time, then I'll make use of the perk.

Well, if you are old enough to play in on full gore settings, why do you care?
This way, there is at least an option for the ones in the middle ground. Don't
care if a little violence, but not over the top. The rest of us, just never touch
that option. Problem, solved. Win-Win!

Best way to do it IMO...add it, but have an option to turn it off. Maybe even put it under 'parental controls'?

Couldn't you just not pick the perk that gives you the chance to decapitate? That's the same as turning it off, you just never give the game the ability to turn it on. Plus this game is rated M. I can't even remember the last game I saw parental controls in. Either way, it's good there is at least an option for this, even if it is through a perk. Now people can be happy they have the option.

One-Handed? Isn't a bigger weapon more likely to cause this, how could a shortsword be more likely to decapitate over a claymore.

And this perk needs somethings more...

I am trying to picture an NPC still continuing to fight without his/her head. Yeah, I would probably say you can pretty much bet that that wouldn't be a good aesthetic sight.

I wonder if it's just in general or a specific type of creature and if it's in general how do you decapitate something that doesn't appear to have a head like the frost atronatch from the demo?

Maybe two handed weapons will do it without a perk?

Maybe its a one-handed perk because you use your other hand to grab the poor sod by the hair will you chop his head off?

It won't just be just tied to one handed swords etc. That's what i believe anyway. It was also mentioned ages ago, that some perks give you new/unique finishers.

Sweet. I thought the dismemberment was a tad too much in Fallout :P

The point is the perk potentially could just add a few extra aesthetic kill moves - that wouldn't actually help you at all, it would just make your character kill enemies in a few more varied ways. In other words, without the perk you would have killed the enemy anyway but without making them lose weight.

The question is: is there a 5% chance everytime someone dies that he will loose his head, or is there a 5% chance every time you hit someone that he will die instantly by being beheaded.

The first would be eye-candy, the second game mechanics.

Well, I don't mind a little more gore as long as we don't get the Fallout 3
vanilla gore as when you shot (I guess stab in Skyrim) someone in their
toe, their whole body explodes in a million pieces.

It makes no sense it I shoot a guy in the head with a BB gun and his head flys off/explodes...

I'm guessing it just going to be a simple animation and/or finishing move.

That's one perk I will avoid.

Lolz at poor summer's delicate tastes and sensibilities. BGS knows what they're doing, they know what sells, and they know what the majority will like. Not to mention the fact that it makes more sense given the setting and combat of Skyrim.

But, they also made it optional as a perk, just for you, dear.

Good point. As game mechanic it belongs in a perk tree. As eye-candy it belongs as a gore setting.

I just hope it isn't like Fallout's 3 gore.

When I dicapitate someone's head I have no wish to flood the entire valley beneath us and demolish a village or two in a huge, endless tide of blood.
