Decapitation DEFINITELY Confirmed (as by Pete)

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 8:58 am

So there was alot of talk about ESRB making a typo about decapitation being in the game.

Well Pete has just confirmed on twitter that it is not a typo.

"Yeah, it's part of a one-handed perk you can pick that there's a small chance you can decap. Honestly, it was news to me too."

meh...not a game breaker either way for me. personally in witcher after the first couple of times it was hardly even noticeable and therefore not really that exciting.

One handed perk?!

Is there something about swinging with two hands that makes it harder to sever limbs? :(

Well, I don't mind a little more gore as long as we don't get the Fallout 3
vanilla gore as when you shot (I guess stab in Skyrim) someone in their
toe, their whole body explodes in a million pieces.

I'm surprised by this... I guess it's the Skyrim equivalent of the Bloody Mess perk in Fallout 3. I dunno if I'll get it - seems to me that other perks will be considerable more useful.

Very cool, and love the fact that "there's a small chance" of it happening too. That's how it should be. Maybe there is more dismemberment we don't know about. :celebration:

I'm glad it's a perk.

If it's anything like Fallout, it will look too goofy for me. At least this way I can just choose not to unlock it.

In fact it's not inspirated in Deadly Reflex since wasn't this mod who implemented decapitation in games, but still it's a good thing to have in Skyrim, adds more realism.

Then never activate that perk. Problem solved.

I remember that Beth admitted Deadly Reflex was one of the mods they got some inspiration from for combat (hence the shield bash), so it's relatively safe to assure they got decap from that mod, too.
