Decapitations, severed limbs and burned corpses

Post » Thu Oct 07, 2010 3:59 pm

I'd like all this in Skyrim. It would be pretty satisfying to behead people with a big axe in this fancy new engine. They're not trying to restrict this to a T rating this time are they?

They always say they don't care what rating it gets.

And I wouldn't mind all that in the game. I wouldn't be too upset if they didn't include it, though.

I don't need excessive gore but yeah severing limbs and heads would be cool.

Imagine that for a huge contrast - some NPCs can be decapitated, butchered and burnt. While others of a smaller stature are completely immortal and invulnerable to all damage.

Seriously though, I don't see decapitations happening.

I am not against a injury system like in Fall Out specially not with a couple of realistic injury mods I had in that game, but I can fully understand not everyone is willing to run with a severe wounded leg in the middle of nowhere being chased by a yeti, troll and dragon ...

Than I must say If they implent this it also should count for the PC, to be realistic.

I can life without it .

They've said that they're messing around with dismemberment, so decapitations are a possibility. And they've also said they'd be surprised if they didn't get a "M" rating.

It's a valid reason why I think it would be strange to include brutal violence.

But you're right, i'll stop before another pointless debate about that which must not be mentioned starts again.

It doesn't need to be too excessive, I thought Fallout 3's was fine.

Whatever we get, from what we've been told, it won't be on Fallout 3's level.

I enjoy a good blood bath. I wish you could pick the severed heads up and put them in your inventory. Make every kill a :trophy:

Personally, I don't really need any of that in a game. I'll deal with it if they include it, but hope that it won't be too big a feature - I have no need of gore in my life, the TV news is bad enough.

Fallout 3's is generally considered "excessive" :D

I think it should be included, but not overdone. It's needed for a global feeling and some immersion, but not as a mainstead of combat or anything.

Ah gotcha, well if they're experimenting with it I'm sure we'll get something good.

It's not Fallout 3-level because it's meant to be fantasy. But the gameplay trailer clearly shows the decapitation-type beheading of a draugr (Nord zombie) by an axe. I think such gore will be available in perks.

The Draugr wasn't decapitated, the head bent back A LOT though.

However that was only the first trailer.

The only thing that matters to me is how the combat works. What sort of animations they might or might not show along with it are entirely unimportant, just so long as they correspond with whatever it is that's supposed to be happening.

That said, gore neither impresses nor amuses me.

I said "decapitation-type." That's a lot easier than "the head went back a lot." Too many spaces! LOL Anyway, the head and neck were sufficiently separated enough to call it a decapitation.
