Decent FPS games?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:31 pm

I'm a PC user, and I've been wanting an FPS game to kill some time.

I like using vehicles but it's not essential. What I won't sacrifice is the online community.

I just wanted to know if anyone had some decent suggestions, or personal favorites they'd like to suggest.

Deus Ex. Though It's single player. If you mean mods and stuff, I never checked any out.

Counter Strike
Team Fortress 2
And if you're in to CoD, you can certainly kill plenty of time on it.

All of the other suggestions are excellent as well.

Definitely Bad Company 2. Much more team-oriented than CoD, with tanks, helicopters, UAVs, quad bikes, humvees, etc., also realtime destruction

Left 4 Dead is probably the best co-op FPS I've ever played.

Borderlands was a ton of fun... I still go back to it from time to time.

Playing Portal 2 right now... It's kinda like a FPS.... and it's amazing.

I recommend "Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl" too. Memorable and imaginative FPS with atmosphere to burn. I haven't played the sequel "Call of Pripyat" yet but it's probably good too.

Fallout 3 and all versions of Stalker.
That being said, I am not crazy on FPS so my choices might be erroneous.

Why is everyone suggesting Single Player games? The OP said that a strong online community was required

Got a free copy with my new computer, and it's fun if you can forgive the corny voice-overs.

This, Shadow of Chernobyl is a sick game... there's also the prequel, Clear Sky (I've heard it isn't as good but still worth a try) and Call of Pripyat.

ARMA 2 OA. :foodndrink:

Strong MP community without consolekids and the game itself is absolutely amazing.

Have you played Half-Life 2?

Or Half-Life 1.

I'll have to throw in a Counter-Strike: Source recommendation, the community may be smaller than CoD, but the game is much better.

Borderlands has a good online community, but the game will get boring after you do everything. Call of Duty 2 (no, not Modern Warfare 2) also is a decent game and the online community is okay, I guess. Uncharted 2 has stunning grahics, interesting plotline and a great leviling system online. Go check it out. Oh, and go pick up Half-Life 2 right now.

The Elder scrolls: ARENA?

jk..

Far cry 2 is pretty cool. You can go guns blazing or pure stealth.

The thing I find with Bad Company is that all the buildings you blow up are like one or two story boxes, not really real looking houses or any structure more complicated than that, though I mist say ti si incredibly fun game.

CoD Black Ops is good, I enjoy it.
Bad Company 2, as stated above.

I dunno any other shooters for the computor, Homefront was decent.
