Decent Video Proof of The Grain Glitch

Post » Mon Mar 23, 2009 12:15 am

Hey Crytek, most of the videos of the grain glitch haven't really demonstrated how salient the grain glitch is so here's a video that shows it a bit more clearly. Please bare in mind that even this video doesn't adequately capture how bad is really looks; it looks like a low quality streamed video is playing over the image (large rectangular blocky artifacts) coupled with lines going across the screen.

I don't know why the embed video isn't working so just check out the link.

Please fix this in the next update as it's really ruining what should be an amazing SP experience.

Ironic when you said "Decent" and it's done on your iPhone.

But Retina display is amazing, and I see what you mean.

It has never happened to me, oddly enough.

That's why I only said "decent" because it was done on my iPhone 3GS but it at least still captures the glitch better than a lot of the vids I've seen, where it's only visible in night vision mode.

You're right though, because it's low quality iPhone video it does make it less than stellar - you can't fully discern the large rectangular block grain; however, I think it shows the glitch adequately.

And you're sooooo lucky it hasn't happened to you, the game was BEAUTIFUL up until that first raining level then it just got progressively worse (bigger blocks and more visible waves). It absolutely ruins SP because you constantly know something is wrong with the games graphics until it's all you can see.

Imagine that but 10x worse on a 40' screen. Small vids hide flaws.

I have to admit, i had thought it was supposed to be something screwing with the suit, but agree, it looked bladdy awful, totally ruins the graphical splendour we had gotten used to.

It gets worse the longer you leave it.

I went back to campaign that i left running for a few hours, and the grain got more blokcish, like minecraft pixels and was extremely noticeable even without nanovision.

Which is funny, because minecraft was miles better.

Only joking, but do find it more fun than Cry-Glitchfest 5000

wow you're all idiots, use the search bar to find the solution before trolling like idiotic noobs.
Lower your in-game brightness but raise it on your TV. It's not complicated!
