No decent AA when using SLI?

Post » Thu Dec 30, 2010 8:57 pm

Is anyone else having a problem with AA on sli, and is there a fix for this? I've tried almost every possible method there is (also several compatibility values incl 0x000012C1), and still nothing.

Crysis2 on 1 8800 ultra:

Crysis2 on 2x8800 ultra sli (As you notice, no decent AA.. Beside that, flickering is almost gone, still some when dead and on some spots. Hopefully flickering solved with next patch):

Using 267.24 beta with nvidia slipatch (tried 270.51, other drivers, evga slipatch, etc.. same problem).

I've got a fix. Get a new single graphics card that's better performing than two 8800's ;)

Solved..

Get a new card. Get like a 570, 580, or 590. I prefer ATI so I'd actually suggest a 6870, 6950, or 6970...OR 6990 lol, but it's up to you.

Yeah I had to change some driver compat settings and disable my PhysX card to get the flickering to stop, but now with SLI i noticed the AA is pretty bad/nonexistent in some cases.

For the record, not looking for a new card. those 2 8800 ultra's are doing just fine, crysis 2 +60fps 1680x1050 on extreme. Even other games are playing without any problem. It's simply the AA and flickering sli-issue in crysis 2 which is a pain in the ... . And we all know it's not the gfx-card or driver to blame (or didn't you notice the almost 100-paged multi-gpu flickering topic?), but simply the buggy CryEngine 3 (or like some people say: CryEngine 3 is superb, it's simply the fact that the game is a console port, thus causing all the pc-bugs).

to the last posts: yea, tried all the settings I know in nVidia inspector, but thnx for the advice nnway ;)
