Decorations

Ok, so my character is a girl, and she just got herself a nice little shack by the IC waterfront. I even splashed the extra gold to get some furniture, and being a girl, she'd like to decorate her new home with a few trophies she has picked up on her adventures. She has this nice vase, for instance, which she would like to put on the table, but whenever I walk to the table and drop the vase, it falls out of the air sideways and either just lies there on the side or rolls off the table. It's pretty flippin annoying and it happens with everything that's not flat like a plate.

Does anyone know of a way to actually PUT items somewhere instead of just dropping them from your inventory like they were rotten rat meat? :brokencomputer:

Oh, that's the 'grab' action? There's a key assigned to it, but I never used it. I figured it was for some kind of fighting, lol.

Thanks!

You can also use a telekinesis (is that what it's called?) spell and you can use some buttons to move the item around, forgot which ones, careful if the spell runs out though because the item will just fall. You can make like a 1 foot for max second spell and that will work pretty nicely, I personally use this to decorate my house.

The 'grab' button (on the xbox 360 at least) takes alot of patience. I spent alot of time carefully setting my table with my first house. Getting stuff to stand properly takes awhile. One wrong bump and you have to try again.

Yes on pc the Z button will allow you to manipulate items.
Click and drag from inventory is a common way as well just look up or at an empty area first to make sure you have room.
To drop mulipules in a single fashion shift click on the items in your menu and you'll be able to adjust the ammount.

These are pictures taken in the Leyawiin house with just the added items from OOO, which alone can make even the most drab places shine...

It may even take a bit of practice with some items, especially the longer models on the Z axis. They like to act as if the top half is 10x heavier than the bottom. But it's Havok physics (I think there is some literal meaning designed into the name).

Phoss
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6021 may be of interest if you are playing PC Oblivion (I assume so since you refer to the grab key). This allows for more precise movement and locking in place of items, essentially turning anything into a static object until you pick it up again.

Wetblanket, you ninja you.
Yes, Decorators assistant is a neccesity for pc players who like to decorate.
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10561 is another must have. Place books, potions/posions, apparatuses on bookshelves, or wine and other beverages in Wine racks.
And, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33996, Perfect way to really give a house a personal touch, just don't buy the housepacks from vendors, and decorate an empty house with beds, chests, coffins, Weapon racks that actually are easy to display weapons, and other stuff.
