Dedicated ESO Beta Thread - BETA REMAINS UNDER NDA!

Post » Sun Jan 12, 2014 2:40 am

Hello everyone! We’re thrilled by the excitement here over The Elder Scrolls Online beta test. To prevent beta-related threads from overwhelming the forum, let's please keep all related discussion in here. Additionally, a few reminders:

  • The Elder Scrolls Online beta test is under NDA (non-disclosure agreement); you shouldn’t be discussing details of the test in public places such as these forums, social media, streaming video, et cetera. If you’ve gotten in, it’s OK to let people know that, but you can’t say anything else about the test.
  • We have a private forum for the ESO Beta; the account information you need to log-in was sent with your beta invite.
  • If you are having trouble, or otherwise need help; you can check for solutions on our http://help.elderscrollsonline.com/, search the help section of the ESO beta forums, submit a http://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/ask, or call customer support (details can be found in your invite). It’s very difficult for us to help if you ask here or on our social media channels, and chances are any such requests would break NDA.
  • For information on the Server Status you can check for http://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail2/a_id/4320 or on the beta test forums.
  • If people post other threads about beta, or break the NDA; please let them know of their error politely and direct them to this thread. If content needs to be removed you should report it with the button found under every post.

This thread can be used to discuss publicly available information about the beta. Participants of beta can’t really say anything, but we do want to leave this open for everyone else rather than locking it as an FAQ.

Got my beer, starts at midnight for me though... So it's probably going to be one hell of a sleep deprived adventure.

Oh good, a guiding hand to the key receivers. I noticed that more threads concerning beta (like where to download, or a bug, or other questions) have been popping up. I hope the people see this. It is not fun to roam around the web with a beta key when you have a problem actually getting stuff to launch, and not knowing where to turn.

if they bothered readig the email they got, they know exactly where to turn. they just do not bother reading and prefer to break the NDA they never bothered reading to try and get help.

Yep, happens in all betas, they're so eager to get the beta key and start playing that they skip all the info that would help them.

Had my share of removing posts from open forums and redirecting the player to the closed forums........... :D

I got invited again, but I don't think I'll be playing. Didn't really enjoy the game the last couple of beta tests. But I hope everyone who gets to play this weekend enjoys themselves and reports a lot of bugs!

As far as I understand it's actually a stress test, so the aim is to test their mega server under heavy load. That's why almost everybody got invited. They don't really expect people to do any actually testing, but simply to log on and play, hence creating load on the server. That's what a stress test is all about if I understand it correctly :D

hi just wandering, i get an error when i connect it says (failed t obtain server connection information.)

i am assuming this is because the beta hasn't started yet but i just want to check that that is in fact the problem and that i'm not stuck with it even after beta starts

Didn't you lose basically ALL interest in ESO? 100% sure I heard you say that about two weeks ago.

Yes I did but an email resparked my interest, is that against ESO laws?

Also Star Citizen is only currently testing the Hangar Module and the DFM was delayed for a couple of months so...

Just wondered why you felt the need to test the game so badly then? Nothing wrong with it but I'm just surprised. I thought you made the decision the game was apparently to much themepark?

Might be to much theme park, maybe too much sandbox, but I won't know that till I test it and besides I am pretty bored with STO and posting on SC forums so...here for the test and I have been taking notes from the beta forums and getting my stuff together so I can actually do some good while in there :)

I hope all the new testers enjoy their week-end in-game. Old ones, too. :)
