dedicated home servers : ranked/unranked?

Will linux be supported as a dedicated hosting target?

It looks like the ETQW server is favored to run on the windows platform -- will there be documentation to help get Brink running under linux?

Will individuals be able to run a ranked server from their house, without contracting with a game host?

Too be more precise, there are no ranks. Only levels. These levels can only be obtained by gaining XP, mainly through completing objectives (and winning matches, I'd think), and killing opponents to a lesser degree. This means that objectives will give you FAR more experience than killing. This is why there are no FFA / TDM / ETC or any game modes like that, it's just story-driven play. PC will have dedicated servers, and I'd think the PS3 / Xbox will have matchmaking

Ranked servers have nothing to do with ranks or levels in the game, they are designated server companies hosting an official version of the game that leaderboards are based on, no leaderboards in Brink, no ranked servers
