after some hours of multi-gaming i'm really annoyed of the available servers (the server browser too) and i'm pretty sure now, that every no-brainer started his own "dedicated" brink server. u can find everything in the browser - 1 gamer and 15 of the dumbest bots i've ever seen in a game / 5 vs 5 with 6 others waiting to join a slot / server where 95% have to ready up to start the map / 70% (maybe) max players 16, 29% coop and 1% others - and u cant figure out on which one u're joining. so i want to host my own server and configure it as i think it should be.

now i'm registered in the forum and searched the forum for linux ded and found nothing but there's no linux support yet ... omg … an id powered game with windows only ded-server support!!! will there ever be a linux binary for a REAL dedicated server or will be the windows support extended? so u can start a ded-server on ur xbox 360 “game server edition” or get the xbox 360 cluster if u’re a game server hoster.

sorry for my cynical words but when i use the server browser it seems that i’m playing brink on a console. especially when u wanna use the filter and if u wana join a server where a friend is allready playing u have to click on the “yes, i’m really really sure that i wanna join the server where my friend is playing” button. that’s not the typical pc-game standard i’m familiar with. if u wanna play with an other character or change the model -> do it before u join a server.

but now back to the topic and here are my questions:

- will there be a ded-linux server and if the answer is yes – when will it be released?
- will the server browser be customized, so u get the info u need before u join a server? (btw i cant remove the fav-server star – this should be solved since the last patch)
- will there be a ded-server forum where u can talk about issues, configs, hardware/i-net resurces u need, …?
- will the “press a any button” and “skip the vid” (can) be removed when u join a server?

txs and don’t mind my cynicism but the influence of consoles on pc-games pisses me off.
