Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:39 am

Hi all i have been trying for the last hour to understand why the dedicated server will not load a map,
i was wondering if anyone had got the free dedicated server running yet and has noob friendly advice.

if people didnt know the dedicated servers are free to the cominity now and located here http://www.gamesas.com/support

Ok. If you loaded server successfully write this "gl_map cw2_terminal" for example. Server will load level.

Are you sure you've inserted the correct (newly created) username into the dedicated.cfg?

It's normal that you see "nomap" message in the server window. When in the lobby you'll see something like this: level: lobby, gamerules: unknown, players: 0/16. When the fist player enter to the server you'll see map loading and new server status: level: Wars/cw2_rooftop_gardens, gamerules: InstantAction, players: 1/16, time remaining 29:50.

Sample of LevelRotation.xml:
