Hello, Why only PC have dedicated servers? Look at Crysis 2 multiplayer svcks online because of P2P (btw is dying..)

What you think about dedicated servers for consoles?

Dedicated servers are outrageously difficult to do with the current consoles - They don't support dedicated servers at all and rely completely on p2p.

It'd cost far too much money and far too much time to get them up, and even then, it'd be expensive to own a server, whereas on the PC, you can get one for free, provided you pay internet and energy bills.

As stated above me...GOW3, BFBC:2 and Homefront run on dedicated servers for ranked games.

FIFA 11 have dedicated servers for pro clubs 11 vs 11. Not that there good servers but still

If Brink lags real bad there will be no point playing the game online. Will have to wait and see when it releases on the 13th.

As stated above me...GOW3, BFBC:2 and Homefront run on dedicated servers for ranked games.

Add Resistance: Fall of Man, Warhawk and MAG if you want a few PS3 exclusives with dedicated servers. I can only assume Resistance 2 also has dedicated servers.

Also, where's our "Dedicated servers are alright, but not always needed" option?

EDIT: Also, Crysis 2 online svcks because of dodgy netcode, not P2P.

Consoles dont have dedicated servers because the company has to pay to run the servers, With PC it is game communities/single person that pays to keep the server up monthly.

Sure those stated console games will have dedi servers but they are not gonna stay up forever.

Its a good idea but its not going to happen:Not enough money or time maybe.Besides it doesn't make a big difference as long as you have a good connection

Not true and should be something to start working for next gen consoles. Or sony and microsoft could stop being so greedy, yea its never going to happen. :sadvaultboy:
