defending the slog problem

Post » Sun Dec 06, 2015 1:20 am

i dont know if this is glitched but heres whats happening:

please help if you can.

i had to go defend the slog, which i did. i defended it, set up extra turrets, armed and armored all of the citizens afterwards and left. the game stated that i had failed to defend the slog. i reloaded, did everything that i had done again, went around the area killing everything within a large radius around the slog. the traders are coming into the slog, everyone says thank you and i leave again and again the game tells me that i have failed to defend the slog. ok, i go reload again *this time having saved the game right after equiping everyone, extra defenses. killing everything around it* and i go to each charector to see if theres a dialog that i can pass so i can leave the area safely. i approach deirdre, the perma trader and when she opens the dialog to trade with her she has zero inventory, 3 caps and the game shows that i also have no inventory to trade or barter with her. i cannot leave the slog without the game telling me that i have failed, and i believe this is a glitch that i cannot work around. has anyone else had this issue? i have also waited for hours *including waiting 24*. is there anyway to work around this problem?

There is at least one mob somewhere in town.

Doesn't even have to be in the agro range of your Settlers.

Did something bad happened to the settlement after it failed? I was having problems by defending a settlement that in the end, I just let it fail and nothing bad happened, nothing was destroyed.

I had this yesterday to defend Jamaica Plains. Got there, everyone's going about their own business. Had a quick look around, nothing happening, decided to Ft away and back to see what happened. After the first FT, I got the message that i@d failed to defend. Thought ok and reloaded a quick save and tried again.

This time I took a full circle and found a bunch of gunners fighting with a super mutant patrol. Eliminated them all and when the gunners were died a got the mission success.

Could be something similar? The mob spawned near an existing spawn and were fighting it out, when you FT'd away the game detected they were still alive at that time.

As for the rest, the empty inventories, thats sounds like a glitch?

I too get this problem sometimes.

Highly annoying.

Most recent was hangmans alley,i spent ages travelling to every nook and cranny of the city within settlement agro range to find that last mob, couldn't find it.Eventually failed and magically most of my turrets and crops get destroyed.

Sometimes fast travelling away and fast travelling back to the settlement works and sometimes it won't.On another occasion i found 2 enemies had spawned inside of(or clipped into) a few foundation blocks, saw a hand poking out.Had to remove them to get at the enemies.

Longer i play with settlements the more dissapointed i am at it.So many bugs involved with it,food and water disappearing(or being moved around)settler pathfinding being atrocious with getting stuck on ladders or clipping into objects and settlers teleporting onto roofs,or my one settler in hangmans who has went invisible and yet is still tending crops, assigning settlers to things sometimes not working,un-selectable crops, placing some objects not working even though it is obvious to you that it should be able to place, swo you spend 10 minutes changing angles of approach just to turn the damn thing green...ughh
