Defensive AI Difficulty

I've been noticing, while playing in public Freeplay (and all other modes for that matter), that the enemy AI can be very difficult and somewhat unpredictable when it's on defense.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the highest rank levels of the players on your team?

Apparently the enemy AI rises as your Character Level does, whilst your friendly AI stays at "[censored] tadpole" level.

Any AI that's playing against more human players that its team has gets to be intelligent.

And friendly AI is more competent the higher the difficulty - which means Hard is easier than Easy - but your friends are still morons compared with the enemy, particularly if your team has more humans on it.

Actually there was an update yesterday and a few of the things it did was removing bot inhibitors on freeplay and campaign so the bots should be a lot smarter this time.

Trust me even at 20 friendly A.I. svck beyond belief i don't have any people with brink on my fl so playing with bot's is a pain i got threw resistance on hard with ease but security on hard has like two missions that a somewhat a breeze the two guard missions that you can end at first objective other then those two it's literally hard as hell with bots to get through the endless objectives, especially when friendly's just play the part of meat bags they just die or play the game like's it's tdm.

I really hope the friendly's get fixed because brink relies to heavily on bots if they want to keep a larger fan base they're going to have to make the friendly's no longer noob-bots.

The update that's supposed to fix bot AI hasn't shown up on PS3 or XBox yet, only PC, and from what I've heard, hasn't actually made a difference.

And ENEMY bots get more aggressive and difficult to fight as you level up, but FRIENDLY bots stay stupid the whole way through, only getting new abilities.

It's kind of a shame, honestly. But it's not as bad on hard, in my experience. Some missions are still more of a challenge than they should be, and the enemy aim is hacker-grade, so if they can get a good line on you from long-range, you're screwed. Even that's more fair than having your teammates go "Hmmm... finish the hack we're at 99% on, or run off to capture a Command Post? Well, there's only 3 enemy Engineers in sight, they're not going to be a problem if we leave" *runs off to capture the CP, leaving the enemies to kill off the player they left behind and wipe the entire hack before you have a chance to respawn, let alone get back to try and defend it*

Even when they are not capturing CP's they are just standing there not completing the objective even when no enemies are in sight. They also can't defend a person for [censored]. I can't do the mission where you have to hack the missile to prevent Resistance from destroying the Founder tower because when I go to hack the crane I end up killing the enemies so that my team can pass because they are too dumb to keep themselves alive and when I am finally repairing the crane, my team gets overrun in a split-second. If(by the help of God) I finally finish the repair on the crane, I switch to operative and the same process happens again. Only THIS time, when my team gets overrun by the Resistance and I die, the damn engineers remove my hack box within mere seconds.

I honestly don't care that they don't complete objectives, but at least make them competent enough to guard my ass since I do. Also I really wish heavies couldn't gun me down from 1000 feet away with a [censored] Gotlung gun, while I can't even hit them from 20 feet away with an SMG

Zero, that was the same mission I was stuck on before I switched to Hard, after reading a couple of other people posting that it makes the enemy AI into aimbots, but your teammates are less stupid.

I got to the point where I decided "this is ridiculous, I may as well try it"

I played Medic, and as long as I focused on the business of making people NOT die, my teammates were actually DOING THEIR JOBS!!!!

That seemed like a miraculous achievement to me at the time - it wasn't perfect, but it was playable.

The victory was INCREDIBLY tight, but we did end up winning.

Hahaha. That's also the mission where I ran into the wall and it became unplayable. Switched to Hard, but still stuck.

1. I pick Operative and try to hack. I get torn to shreds by enemy fire because the friendly AI doesn't cover me.

2. I pick Soldier/Medic and try to cover my team. The missile is cleared, but the AI only plays 1 Operative and he is still off playing with that damn bridge!

The key term in the OP would be "DEFENSIVE bots".
