Define ""Massive cities""

Every city has a general store that deals with clothes and jewelry, if not exclusively.

That's true, did they sell upper class things though?

I'd just like to see more logical shops. Like a major city would always have a clothier. You wouldn't go down to the general store to buy your dress, or an expensive ring, would you?

The cities are slightly bigger than Oblivion's. You have 5 that are that big, and you have 20+ small and medium-sized cities.

Commonly referred to as towns.

UESP mentions that the merchandise changes as you play, so if they're treated like other levelled lists, then they would get upper class stuff later on (I wouldn't know, though; I haven't played un-modded in a long time, and I can't play without mods that fix the level scaling problems, so I don't remember what an un-modded game actually does).

Vivec! Now thats a confusing ass city. They have boats to take you from quarter to quarter. lol

I hope they make them around that size but not so confusing, I never really got the layout of Vivec down.

I would only consider the imperial city to be considered anything close to a "city". The others are large towns, several small villages, and then there's Bruma. When they say Skyrim will have 5 "massive cities", I'm expecting them all to be at least the size largest city in Cyrodiil.

Then there's Bruma? I never thought Bruma felt smaller than any other cities. Anvil felt like the smallest to me because it basically had only one street in the main area.

I don't know...Bruma doesn't feel like a large or a significant city. There is one mages guild that doesn't specialize on anything and then gets burned to the ground, there are a few related quests, and of course there's that huge epic war to save the city. The city itself felt very small, cold, and just out there. Maybe it's just me.

I agree. I wouldn't call it a city, more like a village. A large village at that but a village nonetheless. It isn't really the size of it either, it is more like you said, nothing in it was really significant. It's my favorite place, but that is because I like the quaint mountain getaway.

Large cities should have so many streets and alleys that it is possible to get lost in them. Wandering Vivec for the first time was one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life... almost as memorable as stepping out onto Hyrule Field in OoT for the first time.

I think it was said in the Todd Howard podcast that came out not to long ago, I might be wrong though... Unnamed NPCs like the travelling merchants in Fallout I think would be great. As well as crowd fillers, beggars and refugees. Im not saying all of these should be unnamed npcs etc etc, but I think its a worthwhile trade-off to get more ppl on the streets.

And Bethesda haven't made me disappointed for ish 10 years, Im pretty sure the end result will be spectacular.

As much time as they've spent on Skyrim, I think it is not expecting much at all for them to have every NPC named. Heck, Daggerfall did, and it had a RIDICULOUS amount of NPC's, all complished using the random name generator

I hope these massive cities have a proper amount of quests, unlike the [censored] cheapass oblivion. Morrowind's smallest villages had (some even multiple times) more quests than cities in Oblivion. Pointless to have massive cities if there's nothing to do in them.

I guess they mean you can alwas see atleast 10 peoples at sight. and it has a big market, castle, and alot of other areas.

If they would mean massive with like Vegas in fallout they i would be very dissapointed because Vegas only had 3 loading areas that contained in total 3-10 accesable buildings. Even less.

Yeh, I would be very angry if there was no mountain city to explore, deep inside a cavern,.
