Definitely NOT a PVE game

Post » Fri Mar 07, 2014 5:48 am

Okay..you have finished all quests in your zone: they are ALL non repeatable.

What must you do then?

Oh you must venture into Cyrodil as PK (see PVP) fodder to access the quests there which are repeatable

Now tell me: there will be no would be PKs waiting for such fools (like me) who have no idea of PVP will there be?

Of course not! All ESO players are mature individuals who not "get off" on inflicting pain (however indirectly) upon others.

Then, I guess, that like me, after about 20 deaths and having achieved almost nothing except to get to know

the wayshrines and the repairers pretty well they may well consider logging out and just hoping that this was a one off.

But will it be?

I think that we will all find out fairly quickly and that most nonPvpers will end up not subscribing.

In other words if you do not like PVP then do not play seems to be the ESO message.

I expect a lot of flak but I don't see much above that will not turn out to be true as alas!! MMOs have taught me well that the lowest level of expectation is never low enough.

You don't suffer death penalties if you're killed by another player. So you're either not observant or lying about being PK'd 20 times in PvP.

Also I rarely meet people from other alliances while PvEing in my own alliance territory, and when I do they're usually quite keen to avoid me as most of them seem to be PvEers rather than PKers.

And you haven't seen any end-game PvE content, like adventure zones. Why are you judging end-game content based on early-game content in a Beta?

Adventure zones.
Veteran dungeons.
level 50+ and 50++

Please don't propagate misinformation that there is no pve endgame.

Or move on to the next part of the storyline. I suppose after you've completed all three factions, then you might be stuck with just-PvP.

Plus Vet dungeons. Adventures Zones. Player or Guild driven events.

edit: Damn ninjas everywhere.

Wish forum users could down-vote threads and get them eventually deleted. This thread is lame.

There is the report function.

But anyway, as a lot of posts before me:
50+/50++ story content
Veteran dungeons
Adventure zones

And whatever else there will be added every 4-6 weeks (if the devs can keep up that promise).

You're 100% correct, you definately shouldn't play. Take-care.

Moderators can down-vote members for making rude and insulting posts, it's called a posting suspension.

Come on guys, stay constructive and unless you have something to discuss on topic - stay out of the thread.

Thanks.

We explained that PvE will have an end-game on your other thread, and specifically explained that you could visit other faction areas and PvE further there: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1492958-interzone-travel - not only this, but dungeons are repeatable (which are essentially self-contained quests).

In addition there have been numerous other threads on this subject that indicate PvE does have an end-game: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1492783-wait-pvp-game/ - so this means above-and-beyond quests in other faction areas and repeatable dungeons there is also adventure zones.

Where do people keep coming up with this stuff. Correct me if I am wrong but didnt WoW launch without any raids? Are you saying that was always a PvP game? Please stop commenting on Cyrodiil if you have never been in it.

This is so far from the truth that I'm unsure if you are being serious or not.

My first character I leveled to 25ish before I even set foot into Cyrodiil and I did it because I felt like it not because I needed to, I still had plenty of quests I could be doing. There are TONS of PvE content in this game...I'm having more problems trying to decide which quest to do because I have so many of them.

I half think I am being trolled here...

Wait is he talking about endgame or zone leveling? His post is confusing...

Definitely NOT a PvP game. I started a character and I couldn't attack ANY other players.

This is definitely a fantastic balance between PVE & PVP. You can do either, whenever you like......you can stay in the PVE safe zones for as long as you like & quest all around the world.

You can go & PVP at level10 and stay until level 50 or longer.

You are not forced to do either, but can enjoy both regardless what level you are at.

I detested PVP in games like WoW, where the newer player was trashed in PVP due to gear.

Although Eso has some gear differences between higher & lower levels & more access to later skills, it is by far a much more fair PVP system as I have seen to date. Even I had some fun in Cyrodil.

You really need to relax, sit back & experience it all for yourself, before surcoming to your fears.

The whole thread is rude and insulting. People are just pointing out exactly what this thread is, a tear-filled misinformed whine.

You finish all the *current* content.

The devs stick to their schedule and release an update. It has new content/quests/etc.

Or do you have a link to an official source that says they won't be including pve in the content updates? Because in an interview one of the devs said they would be creating content according to the feedback they get. So if people are asking for pve, it makes sense for the devs to completely ignore that and do pvp only, right?

Yea. I know it's a wild, straight out of left field idea but if people could try and stick with me on this.

(Deep breath)

How about we wait until the game has come out and we've played it a few months, so we actually have some idea what we're talking about before we start demanding changes?

Crazy. I know, I know.

Each city or town in every PvE zone should follow the Cyrodiil lead by offering daily, repeatable quests. I would love it if they gave the same level appropriate gold even if they only offered a tiny amount of XP in order to prevent power leveling. Substituting level appropriate crafting mats for XP would also be fine with me.

Use the report button and let the mods sort it out. Everyone posting in the thread keeps it at the top of the forum. If people who don't want to contribute to the thread would stop posting, it would drop off the first page quickly.

OP has obviously not played in Cyrodiil. It is NOT a "PK-er's paradise" AT ALL. This is NOTHING like pre-Trammel Ultima Online or WoW PvP servers. If it were, I wouldn't have spent hours in it last beta and look forward to spending hours more. If it were, we wouldn't have threads with obvious PK-ers whining about not having the ability make other people miserable (of course they don't word it that way). The point is, it's NOT like that. It's fun, exciting, and very anti-PvP friendly.

That's not even to mention that the fact is, there is literally hundreds, if not thousands of hours worth of PvE content PER CHARACTER.

Apart from the PvE not being up pair with pvp is not true, you wil come to see that if you didnt already by some comments above me.

Its true that generaly a lot of poeple in who are in to pvp enjoy it for the wrong reasons but i also think that altho you where being sarcastic, you do have a valid point there. The player base wil be more mature then in your average mmo. Heck, you can stick with me in pvp in end game if you want, i wil be playing most pve if not all pve content before fully focusing on pvp and ill be a hard thing to kill.

Could be possible; as I said, there was an interview where one of the devs said that feedback would be taken into account when they created content for updates.

We'll have to see what happens.
