The number of quests isn't "staggering," and for the last time (just kidding, I'm sure I'll have to say it a few more), this is an old build. PTS is already on a different build than we are in stress testing.

That said, MMO launches are usually buggy, and since the bug in question is usually fixed by relogging, I think we'll all live.

I went from demanding for a lifetime sub to cancelling and deciding to wait for a few months... its not ready i always get stuck in conversations, quests are not working some of them most likely not resetting right but either way it ruins my immersion to have to keep relogging or checking google to see if its bugged.

SWTOR launched in a much better state i don`t recall having problems with the quests and all that.

But they will never delay it... costs, lawsuits and the likes of that, it would be better(cheaper) for them to launch it Dead on Arrival compared to the possible [censored] storm if they delay...

Just wait it out for a few months they will sort out the bugs then go in and enjoy a better experience. Or rush now and stay in line for quests that don`t reset when there are many people in the area.

This is a beta. This is a test build. This is not even the latest test build.

If you don't want to buy the game, fine. But stop scaring people who don't know any better by giving them the impression that we're playing the launch version of the game.

This build is 2-3 weeks old... it took them 5+ years to make the game... they won`t do much in 3 more weeks. Feel free to believe in a miracle but they simply can`t do it...

I did not say anything during the last beta sessions because i also believed their new builds are working, however THIS build we have in beta is pretty new and you run into a LOT of quests that are bugged.

Did i mention you CAN`T craft jewlery? how about that crafters crafting the best gear thing... crafters can`t even make gear for all the slots lol. Somebody should go and call that Paul Sage guy on it... because either he lied or they changed it after he spoke.

Pretty much every quest bug can be traced back to the same issue, and yes, it's gotten better since last beta.

More importantly, what does this have to do with not crafting jewelry?

You are playing a version that is very close to the launch version, as i said, it took them 5 years to make this, you can`t just fix everything in a few weeks... as i said above jewelery crafting isn`t even in yet... and that is a basic thing they promised to crafters.

So no, they won`t be able to do it all in 3 weeks.

We're playing a beta, and you have no idea how close the launch version will look to this, since they were able to add collision detection in the space of a couple of weeks. So yes, they very well may be able to completely fix the phasing issue by launch. If not, no one will die from having to relog.

Zenmax are not going to humiliate themselves by delaying the game this close to launch just because some people cried about it on the forum based on their experiences playing the INCOMPLETE beta version.

Demanding that they delay the game on the forum this close to launch will not achieve anything, sorry.

Its showing that its really not ready, they don`t even have the basics they promised in yet.... and if a thing so big as this gets pushed back... it means there are even bigger issues to do, most likely in the areas we don`t have access to.

Better? Lol.

I have been playing in Ebonheart most weekend and sure at least most of the quests where working. Well aside from the main quest which I couldnt proceed with.

A few hours ago I decided to take a few levels on a templar I had on Dominion, maybe get it to 10 before the beta end. Did the last quests on the beginner island (follow the trail bugs of course, but its just to ignore), get to the first city on the second island and... nothing. "To Auridon" questgiver isnt there. Relog. Nothing. Relog. Nothing. Relog. Nothing. Repeat 20 times. Nothing. Well that ended with a smack in the face.

The game is broken.

Hell you can`t even log out escape does nothing at times... and i have seen a lot of people saying they had this.

They don`t even have full screen on, you know, the Exclusive Full Screen where you alt + tab out and it stays minimized....

I could go on but i can pretty much fill this thread with the bugs i noticed... and if they fix even 30% of them by launch they will get a statue.

I will play the game broken, staring at my cooking pot waiting if need be....these BETA'S are a torture of anticipation. Fix it as you go...the journey has already begun.

And I have builds to test....need more ACCESS!

It is the same thing as all Publisher backed MMO's...they have to meet publisher deadlines and that means releasing when they publisher says to release. I have recently been following Star Citizen and the publishers are about 400K backers who have all pledged some of their own money to fund SC development and we have funded it to the tune of $40 million so far. This means no publisher deadlines, no publisher saying "cut this or that feature we don't need it" none of that nonsense, the development team can concentrate totally on game development and not have to worry about a publisher pushing deadlines at them and basically ruining the game.

Reading topics like this I am confirmed in the belief that the open beta was a mistake

Not that hard to believe. I've completed quests that were bugged for others, and it could have been that I experienced lucky timing, phasing, or I may have just read instructions correctly (which, sadly, is sometimes the cause of "bugged" quests). Not every quest is bugged, and the quests that have phasing issues don't have them for everyone.

Agreed.
It amazes me the number of people who insist on forming their 'expert' (aka [censored]) opinions based on their experience playing an unfinished version of the game.

These same 'experts' then go on somehow believing that they know better than the game designers and developers who do this for a living.

Honestly, I'm hating the movement in this game. It's sooo Clunky: Skills take forever to execute and the fluidity of chaining skills together is horrible. In-Combat Movement feels like 1995 and the push/pull & knockdown/Stun recovery is CRAP (slow, clunky, laggy, non-responsive)...

This game feels like it was made in the 90's... except, the graphics are very (very) good.... but not enough to keep me for longer than a couple months before I get so pissed off in PvP that I just stop altogether.

You will not keep any "hardcoe" people for very long, except for the devoted fan's.

Do not let this go live the way it currently is. Take an extra month.

Yes people are lying, in Kroost pspoke are asking if q quest is bugged before actually seeing if they are doing the quest correctly, only quest on that island bugged is the Green spirit.

Yet I have seen claims of people saying the main quest storm horizon is bugged.

The game is ready. If you rolled a new toon instead of playing your old ones from past betas then you would see that most of the quests function fine. I didn't have 1 quest bug from level 1-9 on AD side.

This weekend I was able to complete all the quests that were bugged for me on the last stress test weekend. No MMO is ever 'ready' at launch, they'll continue fixing bugs as we go. At least the game itself is stable; the night of the WoW launch we ended up with characters on a half-dozen different servers we switched between as the servers crashed and came back up.

When you have more than one person in a quest area they bug out... right now we are 30ish waiting for the spirits of hate etc to spawn in unearthing the past... they only work if there is ONE person doing it.

People are yelling at others to stay back and only let one person do it... nice job ZENIMAX making them only work for one person at a time... in a MMO.

If this doesn`t change at launch it will be funny to see people in a line for a quest then moving on to the next line... and so on. Line after line...

The only person i would listen to if they said the game wasn't ready would be a person in the private test server beta playing the absolute latest build of the game. Other then an overwhelming consensus that things are still broke from players in the private beta our information is far too limited to make such a bold statement as the OP presumes.

Besides I'm saving my pitchfork for the micro transaction protest. I feel that is far more game breaking then a few bugged quests.
