Aint gonna happen peeps, the game will now be in lockdown which means only bugs will be fixed between now and release. Think about how long we have known about the release date. They gonna change it now? Get real.

lol this is sadly true. But I love the elder scrolls and i cant wait to give up my precious time to this game. I've been wanting for an online elder scrolls since morrowind. playing the beta has been so dream like for me.
Exactly. They would lose 100M easily in pre-orders.
If they delayed launch, I personally, would just rescind my pre-order and use the money for other things and wait 2 or so months after launch to bother. I have camera gear to buy. I love this game, but...real life > game. And I'm not speaking of cheap camera gear. Buying a body that costs 3500 USD, this week. Next purchase, after that, will be anywhere from 1-2K USD. Just depends on other things like what I need for what I do.
I'm sure there's other people with more pressing financial issues that would affect a delayed launch. If I can't be bothered to re-up their investment, I'm sure there are millions more.
played 3 different toons to lvl 15 and all the same quests broken for all areas.... dont care if they delay or not.. just wanted to voice that i and MANY MANY others are experiencing massively broken quests... i mean at this one quest there were 20 of us standing there being like wtf.... and another on the boats like 15 of us running around like wtf is the crates.... at least 15 cases of this... so yeah.. im hesitate to play the beta anymore because doing a quest line til the end, then the final quest is broke.. im like [censored].. but now i gotta grind for gear because the broken quests that give me the gear i need to progress are broken... eh whatever still a fun game ... with lots of potential.
You've clearly not done many quests and have been uncommonly unlucky in the ones you did try.
I think the only issue is that Elder Scrolls fans feel disenfranchised as this clearly isn't a game where you are the one heroic character in the gameworld. Fortunately for them there is a solution, they can go and play Skyrim.
As a stand alone MMO the game is in good shape for release later in the month. It's not a genre buster but then every single one, attempting to be so, released in the last ten years has failed horribly so it's probably not a bad thing. The game will stand or fall, not on a couple of bugged quests but, by the quality of and support by its community.
I don't think they should delay the game, Zenimax just needs to make a lot of fixes before the launch. That doesn't mean everything needs to be fixed but a lot of it should be.
I don't understand where players come from that have zero ability to understand how business works. Move a release date? I don't even think that would be possible. The amount of work needed to do that would set the game development back MONTHS. They don't have enough marketing people on staff to do something like that, they would need to pull in the development team. It would be a disaster.
Also, imagine the impact on sales! "The game was not ready to release". Yea, that will go over well with buyers and investors.
Well, then search on google and tell me who tells the truth? You with your personal experience or thousdands of people compalining about some bugs in WoW? I do not play WoW so need to choose who can I trust more.
The game isn't in that bad shape but if they don't fix those phasing errors and other obvious bugs, their early Metacritic user scores will be in the 2.x range. I went back to get the mining foreman quest in Crosswych and the bell to spawn the quest npc still is un-ringable.
The original release date was announced by ZOS back in February-March 2013. ESO was supposed to be released by the end of 2013. Then in late spring-early summer, they announced console support and moved the release of the PC version to 4/4/14. So the devs have had three additional months over the original release target date already. I doubt they would postpone it again.
But then again, has anyone seen ESO promotions on Youtube or in other media yet heavily promoting the 4/4 launch? I already got bombarded with Blizzard adverts for Diablo (March 25 launch) and even a few for WoD (fall 2014 launch) already.
yeah thats not true. there are about 4-5 million players in this beta. theres 4.5 million beta accounts created on the beta forums, and hundreds of thousands of key give-aways.
I doubt even half of that will sub, so yeah, as far as launch goes im not worried about stability.
Same. The problems with WoW at launch are largely exaggerated. The main issue was server overload and huge login queues. Technically speaking, there wasn't much wrong with the game itself. There was lag, there were some poorly conceived abilities and talents that later got fixed, maybe a few quests with a bit of odd behaviour and you could access "secret areas" that were unfinished but kept in for the fun of it, but that's it.
It generally wasn't failing to spawn quest mobs, spawning interactable objects in places where you can't interact with them, allowing exploits to duplicate quest rewards, making you fall through the world in several places using certain abilities, letting mobs walk through the air after being affected by knockback effects, players getting stuck between rocks and unable to get out, constantly getting thrown off your horse while riding around, giving user interface errors, strange black boxes appearing around doors, etc.
All these things I've encountered. I'm fine with a few minor bugs still being in at launch. But here, there are too many issues and some of them are quite serious rather than just a minor annoyance. By the end of WoW beta, I was not constantly reminded just how unfinished the game was. But here, I am.
Look, people. The game rocks. We all agree, right? Even with bugs, I love the damned thing. It's Elder Scrolls Online for goodness sakes!
I adore it, they did a great job translating it to MMO in my opinion.
My only beef is that they need to do the low level crap right first. That's it.
I've been in many betas and most of the time they get at least that part right. However, even then it fails if they disregard the rest of the game. It's not a black or white situation.
I love this game and wish it succeeds. That's all.
We are actually getting some TV ads here in the Netherlands, though not many.
I can guarantee at launch there will be more players in game than at any point in time during the "stress tests" Just because accounts were created, or invitations sent does not equal players in game.
I for one spent a total of less than 2 hours in the last 2 weekends. I'm sure there's many more that never played at all.
I had to remove a LOT of off topic arguing and pointless posts.
if you can't have a conversation like advlts, warnings will be handed out and the topic will be considered off limits.
Thanks
Yea 2 hours later i`m still there there is no way to pass the Covenant`s second area the orc island. There are people stacked at the 2 quests that don`t work talking about anything and everything to pass the time lol.
I also saw tons of bugs in the Ebonheart Pact... the Mage Guild quest is also bugged when you must close a portal, it will not close, many people complained... same for Fighters guild the part where you go and help a guy fight some daedra, nothing spawns...
For the most part their system doesn`t work when more than one person is trying to do the same quest.... so funny considering a lot of people wanted this to be more like a single player game... well you have it now, if there is another guy there trying to do the same quest it will bug out, so its solo or nothing.
Some posters intentionally put in flame bait to get threads poleaxed. Sad but true.
I'll repeat what I said in my thread but format it better:
I'm sorry to say it but it's not ready for release. This current weekend build is more buggy than the previous build. They said they fixed thousands of quests:
(directly from patch notes)
but the same quests that have had problems for months now still have those same problems, like Foulwing in Glenumbra or the assassins on the boats. If the quest requires a mob to spawn it's "bugged", whether it's due to phasing issues or players standing on the spawn point or whatever. It needs to be fixed, and ASAP, because the increasingly fickle MMO community will not easily forgive quest-breaking bugs if they persist at launch.
You can't activate mundus stones with some characters. This is a new one from this build, and I'm not sure if it's really a bug or there's an undocumented level limit before using them because it's my level 4 imperial that skipped the tutorial that's having the problem.
You're randomly dismounted for no apparent reason while on your horse.
There's new UI issues where characters created this weekend have totally different chat colors than all your other characters, with no way to save/load UI.
You still get UI errors while using crafting stations although now it's easier to get the UI back (but the fact is it's still bugged).
There's a problem with people not getting their imperial items, requiring contact with support and various proofs that you have the imperial edition (for now).
People are falling through the world. I hear it in chat way more often than anyone should.
That's not to mention gameplay changes that a lot of people are unhappy with but aren't bugs, like only getting a sword in the tutorial instead of your choice of weapon (this one is highly annoying), or not knowing who to talk to to get to the starter islands if you skip the tutorial. Some people, including myself, would prefer if we were put on the starting island and from there had a choice to either skip to the main city or stay there. Those are minor problems though at best.
The biggest problem is definitely the quests. So many people in chat keep asking "is such-and-such quest bugged?" and the answer is always "yes", and it's been that same answer for months. Even after supposedly fixing thousands of quests there's still these major bugs with two weeks to go?
Launch is in two weeks (early access really) and even though they said this weekend's build is not the most recent build, the very fact that they said thousands of quests were fixed but the main and constant offenders are still just as bugged as they were in November makes me think the game is not ready. And I'm a supporter of this game. Bought the imperial edition the day after it was made available.
I have to agree with OP.
I played the last 3 betas and the first 2 were on the US servers. I found nothing wrong with the quest chain and very little to complain about, other than my usual rants on other posts.
Upon changing to the EU server setup, the first major problem i found that was the Fort in Bal Foyen, completely broken, NPC good guys fighting each other, Covenant pact soldiers fighting each other and the master portal was broken along with the master portal general. i had to abandon the quest and try and pick it up from the other side.
the docks were broken, the captain was fighting her own toops and the ship, was unable to leave. all in all, broken.
I encountered numerous quests broken, after Bal Foyen. but the problem came when those quests need to be completed to allow you access to the next section of quests. broken questschain means no advancement. Alot of NPC's directing me back into the zone because i missed a quest, which i had to by pass to keep leveling.
Broken quest chain means no advancement along a quest. always being re-directed back into the zone to attempt a quest chain that doesnt work. in short no advancement.
Your lucky, but i bet you would change your tune if you could not advance along the quest chain.
I have played in many many betas of other games over the passed 15+ years, of other MMO's. They have been an almost complete workable game to play with no broken quests. EQ had a few teething problems, but seen as it was one of the very first MMO's they were exploring uncharted territory. Even WoW, and i dont like that game anymore, was a perfectly runable game in the final Beta. This ahs to be the very first beta test i have done that had so many broken quests and things going wrong that i have ever seen in a MMO.
I hear members saying its a beta there will be problems, its not the full game. but every beta i have tested was a complete game ready for launch and was only set up as a beta test for tress testing the servers, not for people to find problems and complain.
Most of the complaints here are about broken objects and quests, bugs where items disappear, or wind up in the wrong place, rather than going to your inventory they end up in the bank or guild bank. Functionality is broken, quests are broken, locations items and NPC's, scenary missing just like my avatar picture. broken!
I would hate this to be a failed game like conan was, with memory leaks everywhere.
I've played the last 2 beta weekends and look fwd to release. But I'm a realist and accept that it'll be buggy for a while: some quests are still broken, the ability to pull up system menu via Esc fails at random, I lose sound intermittently, PvP is laggy - but not as bad as last weekend.... to name a few issues. I wish I could say with confidence that launch will be smooth, but I doubt it. I nonetheless don't want them to delay - I will grin and bear it!
