Delay ESO. Community PLEASE read. Please.

Post » Mon Mar 17, 2014 12:56 pm

ESO Community,

Lend me your eyes.

ESO is not ready to go Gold and released in two weeks. It just isn't most of us here can single out individual reasons why. Pool them altogether and we can see a product requiring much more polishing.

THE ELDER SCROLLS FRANCHISE DESERVES AN AAA title. Not a rushed title because of publisher deadlines.

Let's give the devs a shout out that we rather wait a little longer for a much more polished product then a game that may ruin our ESO experience because of excessive bugs or worst.

Please via the /feedback option In beta, tell the devs to delay the game and reference this thread! Together with enough feedback hits they will hear us!

Ummm... no. The game is ready. I for one am ready to play it in it's current state. I didn't experience any of the problems other have mentioned.

I could not complete few quests, but why stop because of that?

I'm fine with the game being released. No need to panic, OP.

Nearly half of the quests are bugged every beta i've tried.

I get you are a fan but this behavior will hurt the launch lol.

I didn't encounter a single bugged quest in any beta event. Go elsewhere with your "the sky is falling" nonsense.

I went through 3 characters in the last two betas.. Dominion and Ebon quests were fine with me.. Not saying you didn't have bugged quests..but what the OP is doing, is wanting to hold the game off for those who don't have any problems which is unfair and selfish.

I completed 90 quests in first area and it was almost all - only 5 left on my list with some bug and I could move to next area being on right level (so not stopped on progress).

I know games that indeed had problems in quests chains that people could not progress to next zone becuase of bug.

So not sure if we know same math, but 5/90 is much less then half in my logic.

Totally agree with the OP...delay the game.

The Marketing guys are giving it the big push, but unfortunately the Devs cannot keep pace.

The Eu client fiasco now has come to the fore...Not going to list the problems with the borked launcher and countless reloads players have to try and update this mess.

Broken Quests and other bugs are also a major problem.

Lack of communication from Zenimax or Bethesheda is also a concern.

I want this game to succeed, ive enjoyed being a part of the Beta testing, but the clock is ticking and I cannot see how a lot of these issues can be resolved in such a short space of time before release.

I would love to be proved wrong, but " pulling a rabbit out of the hat, " in such a small timescale seems impossible.

Don't give the Trolls and the Game haters an excuse to say..i told you so!

Delay the release till you have smooth launch

No, what YOU are doing is unfair and selfish. They should have the chance to FIX these major bugs for the MAJORITY of us. Go I to the beta and you'll see NONSTOP pvssyr on bug after bug, some major game breaking ones. Post after post is coming up here about issues.

Don't tell me this crap is ready and don't you dare call me selfish when I'm looking out forTHE MAJORITY.

You're obviously the selfish one.

:bonk: but he plays the same game. Those who feel game needs to be fixed can wait a bit. Also people do not talk about good quests - usually about broken, so I do expect these on chat.

They cannot delay the launch... it is too late for that. delaying the launch will cost them a sh..load of money and may even cause legal issues.

But I agree in it's current state the game has some bugs that are going to hurt their player numbers... but not by much.

Daggerfall has a few bugged quests that are annoying... the freeze bug is still not fixed... pre-order items were not delivered to everyone this weekend... for some reason the esc button did not work some players at all... help menu did not work for some players...there are quite a lot of stuck quests... and the minimap for Cyrodiil was messed up for a lot of players.... that are just a few problem I heard of since Friday. many fans here will ignore that but not everyone is attached to the game as most here and one or more of these issues could drive some players away.

This is something NO gaming company, not even Blizzard understands.... there's enough competition today that an unpolished game and not enough end-game content will result in a loss of player that can NEVER be recovered... many players will not give a 2nd chance.

I got four in Glenumbra:

- Foulwing

- Mists of Corruption

- The Ghosts of Westry

- The Miner's Lament

and now checked exactly there are 61 quests in this region and I completed 57!

I did experience the bugged quests and of course hope they fixed them by release, especially with how many I seemed to stumble on in the DC area (Didn't really get any in any other factions areas). Having said that they're not going to delay the game 2 weeks from release and trying to rev up the hype machine and get it going full steam ahead and then saying, "Nevermind we're not going to release it yet" :)

Personally even with the bugs I'm looking forward to this coming out because I'm still having a blast and want to play it for real finally, but if the bugs are something that'd destroy the game for you (or anyone) you're not required to buy the game on launch and can use the usual recommended 6 month extra wait for things to polish a bit for MMO's.

Some of the quests might be unplayable two weeks from now, but if they do what you ask, they will all be unplayable two weeks from now.

Your logic confuses me.

Most of the bugged quests people are experiencing are perfectly fine on PTS. There's maybe 1-4 quests or so per zone that are bugged on PTS, and of those there's usually workarounds.

I just think the sheer number of people are causing a lot of stuff to bust up. I think the problem lies more with the server itself rather than the quests.

So far from our count it looks like we have a little over 100 people who have submitted the /feedback delay request. Please keep it up guys.

Let's give this title the chance no game ever gets. A real chance to succeed by giving the devs more time. Show them you'll be loyal to them even if they delay.

There will be no delay, that is sure because of 4 quests out of 61 (in one zone that was well explored by me) are broken on launch.

So you're saying I'm lying? Or that half of the zone chat which is having the same problems are all lying?

Sure.

And all 3 of the lvl 14 dungeon quests are also bugged for me, i've tried 3 hours now. Yes, fungal grotto, banished cells, and spider clutch quests will not move forward. This includes everyone in my party.

I get the impression that there's way more bugs then they'll be able to fix (I hope I'm wrong) but even with that said there's no way they'd be able to delay the launch.

Another thread where people are claiming to know the state of the game, based on an old public beta build... if the game has major issues, it should be delayed. However none of us know the current state of the game.

I've been questing since I started; I'm now level 11 and have only encountered 3 broken quests, which I, and many others, have reported. Couple that with the fact that we're playing a slightly outdated build and there's still two weeks to go; and you have yourself a finished product. It might not be super polished and flawless on release day, but name one MMO that was.
