Delay in Release Date for Crysis 2 Explained !!!

Post » Thu Dec 10, 2009 12:26 am

I wanna pre-order this game, but no store on the internet has a pre-order :(
I hope to see very soon more about the release date, because this will be a very good game. I have waited long for this game, curious how the story goes on

i personally don't want it delayed. i think that with some new people in the Crytek team they will do a better patch job. I also have faith in Crytek that they won't have to have to many patches.

Yes i have seen it , but then you pay 60 ,- , I have sites where most new games will cost around the 40,- or 45,- !

But only the two sites that have the pre-order are the full price.. :(

I still dont understand why previously you have been like Crytek's PR consultant, this game was gunna be the Muts Nuts according to you.
But now your likes Cryteks nightmare come true, it seems like nothing is going to be good enough whatever they do according to you.
The change in your attitude has been realy dramatic, and it just doesn't make sense to me. I wish I could underatand, but I dont, :-(

The thing is, there are parts of Crytek that I really like, and then there are parts of them that I dislike.

Like: story, sandbox, nanosuit, animations, weapons, singleplayer, community, graphics, passion, innovative.

Dislike: patching, secrecy, multiplayer, bugs, lack of content, short singleplayer.

So depending on the thread, I either love Crytek or i hate them. :D

@Talon95, I wonder then, if you could perhaps not be so extreme, and demanding, on the bits you dont like.
Then just a little more Posative, on the bits you do like.;
Just to be fair to all devs, very many milti play problems are realy caused by hacks and cheats.
A community of experts that prolly didnt quite make the grade, but never the less are good, who seem intent on causing problems.
They are good at what they do, and if anyone can find a weakness these people will.
This is quite sad but happens.
Devs are very good at what they do, :D

I really do hope that Crysis 2 has tonnes of easter eggs. There seems to be more opportunities for them in NYC.
In fact, we've seen one already. In the trailer with the Epic Collapsing Skyscraqer of OMGWOW the building which collapses is the MetLife building. But to avoid a copyright infringement Crytek called it MaxLife.
:D
MAXIMUM EASTER.
You can delay the game and still have an extensive beta you know. ;)

I think the beta should be limited to pre orders, as this makes you atleast partially commited and you care about the game. :)

I want a delay. Every Crytek title EVER has always been delayed though, so I have hope! If the game is anything like this website, its really gonna need a delay. ^^

+1 to Guss600!
Partially agree with the pre-order Beta thing, only one point on that, I will only ever pre-order in store, do you intend those pre-orders in beta also, its just me,
I prefer to go to the store on pick up day meet the guys, and pvssyr till the doors open, stroll in and collect the garanteed game.
Thats a buzz, then to stand outside as the rest turn up just hoping for one copy left on the shelf, now thats just a damm riot, lmao :D
Finally the Virgin isp releases its views on Crysis 2, heres a snippet,
________________________________________________________
There is a feeling that Crysis 2 breaks with the past, perhaps even a hint of a reboot. It takes place about three years after Crysis - a deliberate attempt to separate the stories a little bit. The aliens from the first game have expanded their conquest, overrunning the major cities of the world. " Nathan promises to resolve some of the questions and plot threads left open at the end of the first game", but, he insists, Crysis 2 tells an entirely
new story that newcomers will be able to enjoy without having played its predecessor. For console only gamers, this will be a godsend. Crysis, somewhat surprisingly, was never released on the Xbox 360 or PS3.
Also
Crysis 2, EA and Crytek's multi-platform follow-up to the hit graphical showcase from 2007, will be released this autumn. That's according to an add placed by EA in the current issue of trade publication MCV.

The game had previously been pegged for release in "holiday 2010", but an autumn window means the shooter should be in stores between September and November 2010.
Find all the info including the supposed release date 24th Sept, and links to other Crysis 2 stuff, most of this will have been seen, but check it out for extras anyway.

I said I hope it is delayed... I already know when Crytek says it will be ready. :) You should keep in mind that every Crytek title ever has been delayed, so I wouldn't get your hopes up too high for that release date. ^^

Truth. And the pulling back on the Beta makes me really wonder. Seems strange to release a beta a month or two before you release. Why bother?

As long as it comes before christmas I'm happy.
Hope to see the announcement of the Nano Edition soon, so I can start pre-ordering.

Maybe at next month GDC, they announce the Multiplayer, Nano Edition and release date?

Now that would be awesome!

The reason Crytek has a vague date like that is because they are anticipating a delay. Most other companies already have a set release date for their game. Crytek does not because they do not know when they will be finished. Expect it to be delayed...end of story. That "holiday" date of theirs means nothing to us really, it is just the development goal for them. Far Cry was delayed from November to March as well, and that game rocked because of it. Don't rule out a delay so quickly just because you got a vague date from a developer that they could easily change with the snap of their fingers. And just because people pre-ordered, doesn't mean it won't be delayed. :D

The only game I'm looking forward to is Crysis 2.

Modern Warfare 2 is not the type of game I want.

Crysis had the best balans between linear and sandbox.
I like to have freedom, while still being directed so I dont get "lost".

I'm glad they take their time for Crysis 2. It's their first game for console, so they will need some extra time. The next game('s) will benefit from it, becouse they will know how to work with consoles and PC offcource.

My laptop and PC can run Crysis (Warhead) on low. So I'm happy it comes to console. At the end the PC gamers will benefit from it so they will need a lower spec PC to run the game.

Can't wait for it.
