Delay Speculation

Post » Tue Jun 28, 2011 9:00 am

A new article this morning in Gaming Union has a securities anolyst speculating that Skyrim could be delayed without hurting sales. I won't link to it though. :P It's not firm news, it's speculation like we do here. :D

I don't believe it...no reason for hysteria at all. Just thought I'd bring it up calmly so everyone could speculate along with the rumormonger.

Already prepared for a late launch, can't be disappointed that way. Learned that lesson from the wait for Twilight Princess.

So he's not speculating it will/could be late, just that if it was late sales wouldn't be affected? No biggy, I doubt sales would be hurt if they did postpone release too, doesn't mean I think they're going to.

I wouldn't mind a delay at all. More time to add those dinosaurs I keep asking for (I'm sure Todd's listening)...

My money's on there being no delay, though.

I tend to ignore anolysts. Most of them have absolutely no idea what they're talking about when it comes to the games industry and usually turn out to be wrong.

Sure it can be delayed. 11.11.11 is just in 100 years.

I really can't see there being a delay. It seems that a lot of the game is ready and they're pretty much in the tweaking / polishing phase... so unless they suddenly decided they were unhappy with the final product, I don't see why they wouldn't hit the planned release date. If they were unhappy with the final product, I think they'd know by now and would've done something about it several months back.

I don't know. Todd and everyone else at Bethesda would probably feel pretty stupid if they delayed after sounding so sure about 11-11-11.
