Alright, so last night I was downloading some mods. I downloaded a texture mod which I don't remember the name of. Long story short somewhere in between I must have done something wrong as in-game all the surfaces were a pure purple. I decided to run vanilla and see if that would solve the problem and I tweaked some graphics, but it persisted. So I came to the conclusion it was the mod's doing.

I decided to take the most painless way out and just uninstall the game (to later reinstall). But I got an error. I tried several different things, and then tried to uninstall from control panel but nothing worked. So I went to the location I installed Oblivion and simply deleted everything there, then deleted everything related. Obviously this wasn't the best idea. Whenever I insert the Oblivion CD and run the game, instead of having the install option it simply acts as if it were still installed. When I press play the screen goes black, then it crashes (for the obvious reason). And I still get the same error while trying to uninstall.

So my problem is, I couldn't uninstall the game. And now I can't install it either. Any help would be appreciated.

I also realize I double posted this (now in the incorrect section) but the technical support section is very inactive (2 hours with 0 views) so it was looking kind of hopeless. Hopefully the mod will be understanding or wait a little bit before deleting this.

Which problem are you referring to the purple ground, or did you also delete all of the files instead of uninstalling? Is it possible that this is fairly common?
