"Deleting Reference Counted Object Twice" - FIXED 1.2

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 11:03 am

Hey guys,

I've just personally tested a work around for this issue and confirmed that it works. So if you're getting this issue please try the following:

1) Start Crysis 2 as per normal and get into the main menu.
2) BEFORE you click on "Multiplayer" (where the crash occurs), alt+tab back into Windows.
3) Open up your Network properties and disable your network adaptor. (instructions)
4) Go back into the game and click on Multiplayer, it should successfully load the next screen without crashing.
5) Alt+tab back to Windows and re-enable your network adaptor.
6) Go back into the game and start playing.

This issue is related to heavy firewalls that isn't allowing the game to communicate properly but that should sucessfully bypass the error and allow you to play online. A proper fix for this is coming soon but give this a go in the mean time and let us know your results!

Thanks!

EDIT: This error was fixed in Patch 1.2

Yes thank you! All we need now is a patch, but thanks a lot for the work-around :)

I found a way that does not require you to change constantly change settings once in the game.

Go to the DVD and copy Crysis2.exe and Crysis2Launcher.exe and go to C:/ProgramFiles/Electronic Arts/Crytek/Crysis2/bin32 and overwrite.

When I did this, the game believes its not patched and can't see any servers. The solution at the top was the only one that worked.

No, please don't do this. You're undoing the day-1 patch by copying the exe from the DVD.

It shouldn't let you play online without the patches though, presumably?

* DarkLite has a bad feeling about this...

<18:38:41> CryFixedArray::removeAt() failed as i=-1 is out of range of curSize=x

everysingle time, i have all the ports open, no firewall running, ive bridged lan with wireless (no corded connections is on my network its all wireless) and it still boots me out. Ive disabled my router firewall and windows fire wall. I just did a fresh install of the game and patched to 1.1 there is no demo files on my computer.

Please help. Cause non of that mattered it wont logon and or stay logged on, its like the only time I can play online is in the AM when I should be sleeping.

You just can't see any servers, cause they are on 1.1 and your game still believes its on 1.0. Should there for some weird reason be a server still on 1.0, you probably would have picked it up.

Stick to Cry-Adam's solution, its irritating, but at least it works.

At first, I thought it wasn't working (it sent me to a log-in screen) but then, once I finished the list of instructions and pressed the log in button, it worked.

Still can't wait for a patch though.

I cant play this God mother freakin game becuase everytime I click multiplayer my computer freezes. It was not doing that a week ago, but it is doing it now. I played 1 game today where I was able to log in. 24 freain hours ago. You god damn bastards at Crytek could atleast acknowledge my posts both on here and or on the steam forums. I promise I will never be a day 1 buyer of any of your software. My dam mistake. I have not had a freeze since I put this rig together now since your trash has been released I have had both freezes crashes and disk read errors. Unbelievable

hi, I'm on kaspersky 2011.

At first it didn't allow me to enter multiplayer.
Then I completely turned it off, played one game, exit game, turn on firewall, and start game again. It worked

The multiplayer always tell me I'm under strict nat, but I can most of the time play.

THANK YOU! Exactly the same problem here! The only time I can play without getting disconnected is when I have to be sleeping. Around like 12:00AM - 4:00AM.

I manage to log into the multiplay and connect to a server but within minutes I get "connection lost" error. This sometimes happens even when just in the lobby.
