Delicate Topic.....

Post » Thu May 16, 2013 5:02 am

Hello.

Sorry, but I am not sure where to post this since it's not really a problem, but more of a request of tutorial to do with both PC and Xbox. It is a very 'delicate' topic and few say that is illegal, but I honestly don't see how.

First off, I play Xbox and want to convert to PC. Thing is, I don't want to lose all my saves (character), I have heard, that it is possible to transfer your Xbox saves to your PC using a program of some sought. Possible?

Secondly, how do I achieve this? Anyone know anything about this?

Thirdly, if it is possible, are mods still compatible with the save even though it's an Xbox save converted to a PC save? Would I still be able to use mods on that save, on PC?

Last but most important, is this 'illegal'? That is why I said this is a 'delicate' topic, but I am probably going to get a warning for this topic or it's going to get locked.

Thanks in advance! Yes, I know this isn't really a problem, but I don't really see another section to put this in. Sorry if this is not in the right section.

For all intents and purposes, transferring things from the XBox to PC, and vice versa is illegal, regardless of what you are transferring.

Plus, this type of topic is not allowed on these forums, so you will have to go elsewhere.

Go to be the most stupidest 'illegal' thing I have ever heard in my entire life. I still have to get Steam, and buy Skyrim on PC.

Wasting 300 Hours isn't fun.

Trust me, there are far more stupid illegal things in this world.

And its only wasted if you feel it to be wasted. And if you do feel it to be wasted, well, thats your problem. No one told you to play for 300 hours on a closed system.

I know why you want to but, when I made the switch I found I could refine my characters better re-creating them on the PC so to speak.

This topic will probably be locked due to the already mentioned Xbox ToS violations, but I concur: Once you start exploring the wonderful world of mods, you won't care about the fate of your Xbox character so much.

I'll just offer this bit of advice - Make a hard save before you try out a mod, then if you decide it's not your cup of tea, delete the mod and return to that hard save you made. In Skyrim, mods can leave behind a lot of rubbish in your save file that can introduce instability in some cases. Mods that don't add .esp or .esm files are generally safe, but those that do will impact your saves.
