I hate the fact that Delphine and Esbern refuse to help me if I refuse to kill Paarthunax. They act like the Dragonborn is supposed to serve THEM, when in truth...it's the other way around. The ancient Blades made an oath with the Dragonborn to serve him, there were NO conditions to that oath. The fact that we have done so much for Delphine, and yet she has barely done anything for us!!!!

I want a future update to either give us the option to convince Delphine and Esbern to give up their hatred for Paarthunax and continue to help the Dragonborn. OR enable them both to no longer be essential characters after the main quest is completed...so we can kill them.

hmm i agree full heartedly that we should have an option to tell Delphine and Esbern to shove it and get that quest out of our journals without killing him, and i would not mind at all to be able to shove an axe in Delphine's face, canonically killing the last blades in Tamriel would have concequinces in future games tho, so making them killable isnt that necessary.. just an option to tell them off would be enough

I use a mod for this issue on the PC that lets me keep Paarth alive and Delphine and Esbern will also help me.

But outside of that either make her not essential so I can kill her. I have nothing against Esbern. I think he is a wise old man who wouldn't have a problem with Paarth remaining alive. But if Delphine could not be reasoned with then I want to deal with her how she threatened me when we first met in her celler in Riverwood. She said she would kill me in an instant. I want to test her skills and take her throat.

well considering that they are following the way of dragonslaying and they are wanting u to kill the one dragon who has learned how to become soooo much stronger and also that they do help u slay alduin buy wont further ur cause or agenda after the world is saved....eh I dont really have a problem with them. Also lets not forget that atm im the only one who can reach the dragon since u no hes protecyed by not only powerful thuum users but a magic wall that wont go away unless u thuum some words.

Granted I also actually enjoy that theirs at least one grp that dosent lose their balls automatically when I show up and actually have the balls to stick with their beliefs when faced with such a mighty presence as me. It grows tiresome that everyone basically kisses my ass and is nice theres at least one grp who will stand up to me with their beliefs weither they are right or wrong.

I did vote that the essential should be removed bc I think it should be removed from ALL npcs, friend or foe alike.
