Ok, we DEMAND Bethesda implement this, please. Sick of my ho

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 6:19 pm

Ok, I'm over-encumbered but I'm on my horse and I'm riding cross country back towards Whiterun. I get jump off to visit a shrine, then 2 sabre cats come out of nowhere. The 1st attacks me and I deal with it, but the other one chases my horse, which runs off and fades out of view. I am now stuck in the middle of nowhere and can barely move, all thanks to my horse running off. I caught up with the sabre cat, which started chasing deer. No body of my horse or anything, I've searched miles, wasted so much time. This is not the first time this has happend. I'm actually fed up now, considering Bethesda failed to implement a "whistle" function. Seriously, get this in there. Hate complaining, but this really is frustrating.

Also, would like to add how sick I am of people who posts threads [censored]ing about how super easy the game is and how they one hit kill everything; then they admit they're playing on the normal difficulty. I despair sometimes.

I'm sure they won't add this partly because Bethesda doesn't really pay attention to what fans have to say and partly because this isn't RDR.

I know Threads like these are pointless and not very popular. But how they failed to appreciate how vital the horse can be, seeing as you can travel quickly when over-encumbered. Now I cannot fast travel. I find it frustrating because it won't at least show up on the map.

Now this, I agree with. Your horse should have a marker on the map for sure.

Maybe if you slammed your fists down on the desk while you yell this it would have more impact.

I wonder if the dragon shout that lets you get aid from nearby animals would be useful here.

I want like horses to be able to carry up to 200 pounds of equipment.. And I want a big horse stable just for my horses.. Because after I get a new horse i never see my old horse again.. Also I don't want battle horses.. One time I went into a fort and my horse ran up a staircase and killed a line of archers..

If the horse wanted to come back, it would have.

It's a grown horse now, let it go.

if you buy a horse rather than 'borrow' or steal they dont wander but they still run if they reach very low hp, which should only happen against very tough enemies, and purchased horses seem to avoid combat more.

the game is way too easy even starting from master, without using alch/ench/smithing, with any build, i dont care to get into a great explanation though. once you figure out how to beat each enemy (which can be done pretty much at level 1 and only gets easier) its just easy and repetitive, but it is still fun. hardly a challenge compared to shogun 2's legendary mode or playing counterstrike/quake2 online as a test of coordination and reflex time.

I'm sneaking up on a fort of bandits. Suddenly one flies off the wall above me, and I realize that Shadowmere has reached the ramparts.

Your horse got afraid of the felines and is probably still running away like crazy.

If you jsut stay where you are, he will make a full 360o turn and come up exactly where he ran from. Just be patient.

You know what? Stuff happens. People get unlucky.

Having a saber cat chase your horse away is something I could imagine happening if Skyrim was 'real life'. It seems like a very possible situation.

Frustrating? Perhaps. But realistic.

Horses run until no longer engaged, then they only go about 50 extra ft. Check the around around where you found the sabre. When my horse gets attacked and runs off, I handle the threat, then search around and it's always waiting like 20 yards away in some trees or something silly.

My horse wanders off but never too far when it gets scared. But all you need to do is dump the extra weight in any nearby container, then fast travel to the nearest location if not the one you're at now. Horse shows up, grab your stuff and ride off.

Also when encumbered, whirlwind is your bestfriend ;)

The horse aggro is what annoys me, I got off mine to take care of a camp of bandits.

The horse took 1 arrow and charged in to take the entire camp on solo.

THAT is not why I have a horse. *sigh*

I spend so much money on horses.... I'm not even a big fan, but I have this whole knight thing going on...

To bad Shadowmere can infact die in Skyrim, though I hope its just a glitch.

Nah, I love horse riding in this game, but they are only vital for the impatient.

btw, if your horse had manged to escape, it would have appeared near you the next time you used fast travel, so it's likely it was dead, took me quite a while to find the body of one I'd lost because it looked like a large rock/boulder in the distance.

Ya, I had a saber tooth cat chase my horse in real life and after a minute or two I just whistle and he comes back.

It sounds to me like you just want a cheat code for infinite money so you don't need to make decisions. Having a weight restriction forces you to make decisions, do I want to walk my way back to town for this junk or drop it? If you're horse is right there maybe walking a bit is OK, if your horse runs off maybe dropping this junk isn't a bad idea.
