Either way, that would be their lame *EXCUSE* for doing it, very different from a "reason".
when games are developed for the console and then ported to the pc, they keep the settings the same for consistency.
In other words, they could have implemented quicksave in all platforms of Crysis 2, thereby maintaining consistency. Or are you going to excuse Crytek by saying that they were forced eliminate Quicksave in those platforms too? Crysis 2, Call of Duty 4, Black Ops, etc, are all prime examples of this.
We all understand that developers have deliberately ruined all these games too, and for no reason. All these games could have employed QS in all platforms. This thread is about pointing out the fact that they have done this intentionally, no excuse for their decision to constantly force us to start all over again.
As to your "consistency" comment, there's absolutely no reason, no benefit, no logic for maintaining consistency of controls. These platforms are not connected, related, or dependent upon each other, they are totally independent entities. They need not have identical functions or implementations.
