Lol so do LOTS of people, not gonna happen though.
I'm sorry to say that there has never been a demo available for a fallout game, and there has been no word (that I'm aware of) of there going to be a demo of Fo4.
Steam refund system gives you two hours to try it
Steam has a 2 hour game time and owning the game less than two weeks Refund policy. That is likely as close to a demo you will get.
If you meet the minimum specs fully, you should be fine.
If you don't, well, you are taking a risk, or decide within 2 hrs.
There was for the original fallout 1 the fallout gang thing where you were at a farm, but the newer fallout games none of them had demo's at least for pc no clue about consoles.
Wishful thinking. Besides that's why they specifically release minimum & recommended specs. There's also this site: http://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
I can't remember ever seeing a demo for a huge open world AAA rpg, it's strange just how many people I've seen requesting a demo of Fallout 4.
But Youtube didn't exist back then to give gameplay video of upcoming games. All we had to go on back then was magazines and demos. It takes time to create a demo and it is much easier now to just show a video of the game than program a tiny version of the game and waste time that would be better spent on other more important things.
Most people don't understand how much work it is just to make a demo version of a game, plus studies have shown that it doesn't make a very significant difference in sales to justify even making a demo. A demo isn't happening, demos are a thing of the past for almost all games.
Surely there has to be another game out at the moment that has about the same requirements.. Wouldn't that work as a sort of test? I just went to Can You Run it!. It laughed at me and called me hurtful names.
I think Erzherzoghans was responding to the post directly before his: "I can't remember ever seeing a demo for a huge open world AAA rpg."
Maybe so, but Arcanum had a demo and it is a huge open world rpg for its time. Not sure if it is an AAA game, but it did make $8.8 million. There is also the Final Fantasy demos.
Will he/she be able to get money back on his/her bank account? VAC bans and gifts won't allow steam refunds. And don't you think 2hours too little to know if the game crashes after 2hours playthrough?
Don't know how long it takes to get steam refund or which countries are allowed but here is the policy.

There should be a demo, I don't understand why they don't do one, it would only get more people to buy the game. They said they couldn't in the past becase their games are open world but the start of oblivion was in a sewer, and skyrim was in an instanced town, and now fallout 4 starts in its own instanced town, why can't those parts be demos?
False.
Demos hurt game sales.

There will be no Demo version for Fallout 4. !!!
Bethesda will not offer a demo version of its upcoming RPG Fallout 4, the developer has confirmed.
Writing on Twitter, marketing executive Pete Hines explained why that won't happen. "No demo," he said to a fan who asked about it. "Not possible to cut up the game into a small piece."
