In Depth Screenshot Evaluation/Discussion

Below are the links to the screenshots as well as a few observations of my own.

When discussing a particular OP screenshot please make reference to the screenshot number I've provided to avoid confusion.

- I think it's safe to assume that this is one of the "massive cities" we've heard a lot about.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/15/?full_size=1
- The Undead on the far left has a beard. Cool.
- To me it looks like the player may be wielding a torch in this screenshot judging from the shadows.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/14/?full_size=1
- The infamous waterfall screenshot. Please do not complain about the way the water looks.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/13/?full_size=1
- Gorgeous

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/12/?full_size=1
- Notice that there is no sign of attributes here. This is the only screenshot that shows a portion of the menu interface mentioned in the GI article (Skills, Inventory, Map, Magic). It only makes sense for attributes to be in the Skills section...it doesn't look like there are any.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/11/?full_size=1

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/10/?full_size=1
- This looks like it could be the flamethrower fire spell that has been mentioned.
- There's a burning animation surrounding the Snow Troll.
- There's blood on his sword. Awesome.
- Judging from his surroundings, this location could be the Throat of the World.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/9/?full_size=1
- One thing that jumps out to me is the fact that the dragon is still staring down his prey even while he's flying. Very cool.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/8/?full_size=1
- Looks like this guy may be perched on the Throat of the World.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/7/?full_size=1

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/6/?full_size=1

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/5/?full_size=1
- Finishing move? Stealth kill?
- I'm pretty sure he's killing a Dunmer.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/4/?full_size=1
- Absolutely gorgeous
- Notice the underwater foliage

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/3/?full_size=1
- Looks like Elvin Armor to me.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/2/?full_size=1
- I'm unimpressed by the character's hair coming out of the back of his helmet. Just sayin'.
- His body looks awesome, in a completely non-homosixual way.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/images/0/1/?full_size=1
- The lighting looks exceptional in this one
- Near his right foot you'll notice something strange. Looks like a puddle splash, or snow drift.
- I think this may be the same armor as in Screenshot #14

In #16, the "something strange" you noticed is simply flowing water.

Does anyone know what kind of undead that is in #2? Because I'm not a lore-buff, so I don't know if it's a special kind, but to me it seems a bit strange that it has a beard. When I think of dead people, beards don't jump to mind, is all.

By "Special kind" I just meant maybe they've had a spell cast on them so they don't decay as much, or something.

Uhh, how can you say that when there is a much taller mountain in the background? The Throat of the World is the tallest mountain in Skyrim.

Those could be borders that we can't access.

I believe the screenshot title on the official website even labels them as such. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Bloodmoon:Draugr#Draugr is the UESP article about them.

That might not be the top of the throat of the world. Quite possibly the second arch of a 7000 step staircase. Lots of room for it to be MUCH taller.

ss12 i am conviced that he id killing a goblin and i pretty sure i cannot be swayed in my opinion. if you look at his hips they are quite a bit higher than the creatures and if you look at his shoulder it looks as tho is about in line with the creatures head and then it looks as if the dovakin has his head and neck bent alittle bit twards the creatures head all most like he is whispering in its ear

ss14 this armour looks nice and on thing that im seeing on a lot of diferently clothed characters that i like is the addition of packs and satchels lets just hope their equipableand not static to the certain clothing

ss16 i looked at it more and it looks like the running water is right. he apears to be standing either on rocks in rushing water or very close to said water

ss16 i belive that the weird thing near his foot is neither running water nor the splash of a puddle if you look on the other side you can see the same thing, it looks like its a border to the screenie

Actually, I think it's cobwebs. You can see it in another spot too.

As far as the first screenshot goes, I don't really think that's a city, what with the lack of people walking around and whatnot.

I'm willing to bet it's just a regular Dwemer ruin, like from Morrowind, only much more with the being on the surface as opposed to under ground.

Consider that the game is far from release yet, they may have built the city but are yet to fully populate it (as is my guess).

Did you even notice the "goblin" was wearing Dovahkiin's armor? Goblins in the previous games didn't wear armor you could loot.

While I agree that its odd that there aren't that many people, the section of the gameplay trailer that portrays this area actually does show one person walking around. He's in the bottom left of the screen, its kinda hard to see. Check out IGN's trailer evaluation for a closer look.

There are 3 NPCs walking in that shot. It's the major city of Markarth.
