Descent, seriously.....important

Descent was probably the first game I ever played on Kali, the greatest environment of online play ever. Clans, teams, ladders, clan meets, it was amazing and very competitive, it beat dialing to my uncles computer for some 1 on 1. I miss the good old days I was a huge descent 1 fan than descent 2 came out and i loved every aspect of the game its like they just made it a little faster, the afterburner, gauss, the mercs. I play counter-strike now the only really competitive game left. It seems when new games get released they spend to much time worrying about the graphics and a cool stupid flash or effect. I was disappointed when descent 3 came out it felt like my ship was 3x bigger and the missions were 3x smaller ( all the dog fighting ones at least) the weapons were way too insane they didnt feel at all like I could get into it. I wish they''d come out with a descent 4 with the same geometry and feel as there first 2....hook up the graphics keep the weapons simple....it doesnt even matter the dog fighting maps probably wouldn't put a helix or a phoenix weapon in, true competitive play isn't gonna have unfair guns. I just hope they really try to keep it to a simple design....I played descent 1 and 2 from about 7 years old until i was probably 18. its an amazing game too bad descent 3 was nothign like the original 2 (thats what kept the interest) also why couldn't you keep it on kali that was by far the biggest descent community and they still even exist. I downloaded Kali the other day and was surprised to see like 10 people i remember from long ago Sorry if i forgot some punctuations im way too excited good luck gamesas I'm definitely one of ur longest and biggest fans I got worried for a little bit, but I'm glad your back :)

Kali was awesome. Best 20$ I ever spent. But outdated and people most likely won't want to pay 50$ for a game + another 20 to play online.

well...you asked for opinions so here's my $0.02:

The weapons in D3 were 'insane'? Sorry but that sounds bogus to me. Why do you think they didn't put the Earthshaker from D2 in D3? Or the Mercury Missile? Or the bouncy Phoenix Cannon? Or the Helix Cannon?

Descent 3's weapons were an improvement over Descent 2 for multiplayer. And the ships did not seem hard to pilot to me, not at all. If you see Metal Maniac, let him know I'm looking for 'em.

Descent 3 was the Descent to get more people into the game. It was dumbed down to allow mousers the ability to learn how to play easily. Remember, Descent is about the hardest game you can master. Grab any FPS and you be in the top ten in kills in no time. It takes months to years to be in the top ten in Descent. I agree the phoenix and helix cannon were WAY overpowering for descent 2, but it wasn't used in competitive play. The mercs...how are they overpowering? Earth Shaker maps weren't even on my list I was a dog fighter....I played on case's ladder for a damn long time and not once did I do an earth shaker map although I learned how it was kind of fun to dodge, but it was also not nearly as intense...descent 3 svcked seriously everyone I know who was on cases ladder for d2 played d3 for about......a month and said are you kidding and uninstalled and went back to d2......it was terrible I was there for the beginning and peak of real competitive play. CS is the only hope and it's dying CS PRO MOD came out and its actually getting a little bit of attention.

heh as i posted waaay back when, i still would love to see realistic water effects such as waterfalls and throw in a ice missle of some sort. They could incorporate that as say feezing the waterfall creating a wall ....i dunno seems there could be some neat things to do with that....
