Desert Rose OOC Thread

Post » Thu Nov 04, 2010 9:55 am

I think keeping it at a slower pace is probably good for all of us--some of you have school, or work, I myself have kids, so...the slower pace it's been going at it good for me. :D

Speaking of which, I won't be able to be on a whole lot today. But I will try to get in and post every chance I get! If anybody I'm with wants to PM me to make sure I know what they're expecting from my characters, feel free. I'm going to start having withdrawals from the forums today! Gaahhhh! :ahhh:

I made Daenalin nicer to Varon. Hell, Varon is being treated badly by everyone. It would make sense to have at least one person show respect.

And as for the language, I won't be using it everytime. I had to search UESP and Imperial library to see if those words even existed in the Elder Scrolls universe. And they do!

It's not like Weldarion hates Varon, they just started of on the wrong foot. with the khajiit happening and all. he'll be nicer to the dunmer in the morning when Varon is sober again.

woah, what language are talking about? I guess I completly forgot to read something in your post... gotta read through it again.

Kerris Vinchis-Elsweyr Group

"Come then, lead us to this herbalist." The Redguard said, wrapping Nee-Wom's other arm around his neck, and Kerris replied

I ain't no stinking Ra'Gada!! Arnand is a Breton, proud and strong from the Reach and don't you forget it mister :swear:

The forum censors swear words, like [censored] and [censored]. See? :P I think it's that swearing that W&V was refering to...

EDIT: Ah, I also noticed that Blademaster. I was unsure if he was refering to Jax or Arnand though :|

I assumed you were referring to me because that was what Arnand said as he moved to help Nee-Wom. No probs brah ;)

I assumed he had to look up those same swear words. That is, because ingame there is no usage of them I think, and sometimes people get a little upset when you use swear words from the real world on TES related stuff. That's what I figured from his words though. Not sure.

I remember reading a discussion on that on the Skyrim forums, they were discussing wether or not the next game should include strong language. One of the "cons" that people were using was that it would not fit the fantasy world, since they are words that have their root and meaning IRL.

I remember Vedaa. She's that pixie-like Dunmer that broke into my character's room(Raven).
Haha, yes indeed. She does know the language of Faerie, by the way (faeries = pixie, although I think you were referring to her haircut). But that's irrelevant to this Out Of Content thread. I'll be posting today hopefully. I just need to read through all posts to get myself up to date.

Ni, would you change Vedaa's age to 109 instead? I always play her as an immature teenybopper but never an old, experienced Mystic. She still looks very youthful, as if she is perpetually 24, thanks to the arcane manipulation of alteration/illusion magic. (Vedaa makes her body think it is forever young, which causes her cells to continue reproducing like they did in her childhood days... and all the other physiological affects that go with it... http://www4.utsouthwestern.edu/cellbio/shay-wright/intro/facts/sw_facts.html.)

And add Reason for Fighting: Sent by Fighters Guild in Shimmerene, Summerset Isle. That, and Vedaa is racist and doesn't like Khajiits because they are not mer and look different from everyone else. Likewise, Vedaa also loathes Argonians, Orcs, Redguards, Nords; anyone who isn't an elf.

EDIT: I'm reading pg.1 and what is it with everyone being so respectful and nice to the Khajiit prisoner? You don't treat prisoners like guests. You treat them like objects for the entertainment of abusing and torturing them. This is from my character's viewpoint, though. I personally don't think that way in real life, just to let everyone know.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:King_Edward,_Part_II

"Be glad I don't, little King of the Small Co**!" The dragon circled almost lazily and let out a huge gout of flame."

That words is censored, but used in the Elder Scrolls. The word was used in when I made Daenalin sing the sonf "My [censored] rages on!"

And the recent word used to insult poor Varon.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Feyfolken_III

“Use this Bulletin instead of the piece of **** I sent you.”

So it' s safe to say the words have been used in lore, but not ingame.

Nothing too much.
Just C*** and S***.

EDIT: Also, Kraven is not a potty mouthed jerk. He is like that towards Dunmers. So I doubt I will have him bare teeth at everyone else. And Syl, don't worry. At least you got Daenalin and Meldor on your side :)

I really don't mind how fast it goes, as I'm a master of finding other things to do. If, for example, the group heads off to the herbalist, maybe Juhanor is going to go speak with Aravi about the sugar. That, or lick a sweetroll in the alleyway. I haven't decided.

I might be posting again in an hour or so. I believe Nee has already had his share of unconsciousness for today! And it seems some people might be visiting him too...

Actually, Armand Christophe is one of the few Redguards that don't have a Redguard-like name. Most of them are called something like Rhano, Azzan, Cyrus, Baurus, etc etc, oneworded names mostly. They don't seem to follow a certain convention though

If you see a french sounding name, chances are the guy/girl is a breton! ;)

Well first off it is Ar-Nand. And yes, it is right here in the UESP. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Breton_Names

It seems his name is destined to go mis-spelled throughout the entire RP it seems, whether we call him Armand or Arnard

I believe it is pronounced/written out as "Armnord," because it is a Nordic name.

Normally, tavern wenches were his favorite bed-time activity but past experiences with Khajiit had left him... sore, and unwilling to attempt again.

I lol'd, it seems the women have the same 'features' as the men?

I won't be able to post today, but I might be able to slip one in tomorrow. Unless anyone objects, I would like to be the last one in Arathorn's store and invite Kain along on the adventure.

I sincerely hope you are trying to mess with me. He is a Breton. His name is Arnand, pronounced exactly as its spelled.

Yes, but the teeth you see makes for painful... eh-hem, nevermind, you are too young to hear about it.

EDIT: Friday night, eh? :hubbahubba:

Too bad I don't have a ride for a night club or something, I wanted to get out the house. Nothing much else to do around here other than workout and swim....-_-
