Desert Rose OOC Thread

Wow, while I was asleep this took off, we are in page 3 now huh? :P Too bad I don't have the time to post anything before going to school... I feel I am getting behind, my char is probably the only one who has not entered the village yet!

And I don't know what I might do, since I don't have any use for a smith... No armor, a spear and two daggers? lol

Oh, and I wonder if my character will make any friends at all :P Not having much luck with the choice of words he does right now

Aravi knows your pain! Everyone else has things to do and when you use your claws or a blowpipe, you don't have much to repair. So she contented herself with a bit of her favourite sugar.

He'll be fine ;) At least he tries!

Edit: Just noticed this thread has the exact same number of replies as the IC thread.

Pointy eared scum!

I'll admit, it's odd roleplaying a Khajiit who hates mer. Well, Bosmer. Bosmer are one of my favourite races, but the lore behind Khajiit interests me, and I've never tried one. Especially one with a drug problem ;)

Ahh... I wondered what the playful banter between you two was!
We've got plenty of people, 20 in fact. Arathorn was the last person I accepted. And unless people don't post, probably the last person I will accept. It's nothing personal.

Aw, dang it, Ni! I had just come up with inspiration for a character!

Okay, so as much as I appreciate the buisness, this is impossible for me to deal with.
I went to school today, and came back to find 7 people had interacted with my character, not including Ni! Who I haven't even responded to yet.
Please, can you clear this up, I can't think of anything that can justify how I can make this work well.

Quite annoyed by the lack of logic behind these posts, and the seemlingly lack of reading going on in the thread that has somehow landed me with 7 requests in the space of a (IC) minute.

The Cathay had handed over his armor to the smith, who was starting to work upon it.

He walked in as the smith was working with his furnace, and noticed two Khajiit standing at the counter. He eyed them carefully. "Gentlemen," he said. Or gentlecats? he thought to himself. Laying his pack down on the ground, he sat down in a chair by the wall, not once taking his eyes off the cats, and willing the smith to hurry.

Grob made his way to the local blacksmith, the blacksmith was a nord. There were also two Khajiits and a Redguard in there.

"I need you to repair my axe" said Grob showing the smith his axe.

the Nordic smith who was already occupied but Arnand wanted to get his quicker business done first before any armoring began.

Countig his gold he pulled out a few pieces, while saying, "Just twenty of your simplest iron-tipped arrows please." He turned to a Khajiit with glass gauntlets. "Gotta have something to pierce those Bosmers armor right?" he asked, with a wink, his mood growing better as he found some reprieve from the heat of the march.

He arrived at the Smithy to see the Nord standing there, tending to his customers armour.
Kerris rapped his fingers on the bench and cleared his throat loudly to get the attention of the Nord.
With the Nord's attention, he spoke "I wish for a repair of my items"
He placed them on the stone bench where the Nord worked and gave him what seemed like sufficient funds. Kerris noted Orcish Plate Armour near the forge. Presumably Grob Goblin-Smasher's, he was aware of the Orc's affinity to plate metal.
Kerris impatiently waited for the Nord to reply and eyed the door of the smithy, as he was eager to get to the Tavern to be with his comrades.

As Nee walked through the dusty road and entered the blacksmith workshop he noticed the place was already crowded. Most of the people of the company were already inside, asking for repairs on their heavy plates and weapons. Nee walked through them.

"Im sorry, Nord", he said, trying to make himself be heard above the shouts of all the other members of the company and the clang of metal on metal, while hoping not to disturb his work, "I do not require your ssservices, but could you perhapss tell me if there iss any kind of herbalist in town? Could you pleasse point me to him? An alchemist, perhapss?"

Well I don't know what else you expect when you volunteer to be the only blacksmith in a village you know is about to be visited by a host of defeated warriors

Okay, hopefully Aiden will be on soon, so we can move this along with him, Raven, and Weldarion. Let's all three sit together by the fire, perhaps, and chat for awhile before we get tired and head off to our bedrolls. :)

BTW, are there tents in our camp? Or are we just laying out bedrolls or something on straw bedding, like was common in medieval armies?

I'll just get Varon doing something a little more, see if I can get him more involved. He's definitely a loner at this point, but I want to get him back in with people. Maybe he'll be more likable in the morning, when all the drunkenness has worn off? Let me know if there's anyone who wouldn't mind chatting with Varon, or something! ;)

Arathon, if it helps, I can make my character out of there. I probably will, since your character seems too busy to answer mine! ;) I am sorry for my part in that... And honestly, I found it hilarious as everyone seemed to head there eheh I was imagining your character, turning to everyside at once, trying to answer all those tired/angry warriors. It is, indeed, too much... I will be out then! Good luck handling the rest!

And I am sorry if my last posts seem to be mostly dialogue and almost no description... I wrote them somewhat rushed, in haste because I had to go somewhere else. I have edited them a bit afterwards, so they are more detailed and "pretty", but... Hopefully the next ones won't be like that!

I see Nee-Wom is in search of an Alchemist. If you're cool with it, I was going to have Aravi bump into him there. Although, perhaps not for all the same reasons.

In fact, I was intending to talk to Aravi! My next post was going to be about walking into the inn to ask the owner, and then maybe engage in conversation with you  Do you think it is ok if I bump into you then? At the inn or after, whatever you prefer.

At the inn works just fine :) It'll force Aravi to interact more, since they'll have to walk together to said alchemist.

I look forward to it :)

Edit: It might just be me being paranoid, but are my posts too brief? Even if they're not, throughout the RP I'll keep trying to improve my writing.

Arathorn - the Cathay in question was Ni!'s, who had already handed over his armor to you. My character followed his in, and was noticing that Ni's character had just done that. Juhanor is currently loitering about in your shop.

Count Lauriel, I don't think you are making them too short. In fact I think mine are becoming too extensive for dialogue heavy posts :unsure2: Not every post needs to be a huge wall of text I guess lol I noticed at the middle that my character probably seemed like he was talking too fast, too furi----- too much to himself!

I think I'm kind of getting the hang of it though (if not, hopefully I will in short time!).

What do you think this is? Disney land? We all sleep on the bug-filled dirty grounds of the jungle floor like savages!

Oh and I call the top of the tree! :P

there are more trees than one ... :) Weldarion isn't sleeping on the ground. Higher places are his preference, especially to sleep.

As a matter of fact, I did think it was Disney land! Aww, now you ruined all my fun! :shakehead:

:P Well, that's why I was asking--I know that many medieval armires just threw straw on the ground, while a few of the high-ranking officials might have a tent to sleep in, and a cot....

And Gavril is right--there are enough trees for us to share! Be nice, or I'll chop yours down while you're sleeping in it! ;)

i guess Varon really overdid it with the khajiit.

That he did. He's kind of a moron, but he's not really a bad guy. He needs some lovin'! (and no, I don't necessarily mean romantic lovin'. geesh, get your head out of the gutter! ;) )

I'm sorry if I came off a bit strong earlier, i'm just dissapointed, I didn't expect people to rush this and I wanted to enjoy the RP. It's not fun for me when it looks like I have to think for everyone else.
Well I don't know what else you expect when you volunteer to be the only blacksmith in a village you know is about to be visited by a host of defeated warriors

I did indeed expect visitors, Ni! told me in PM that he would be visiting and Shadowed Hunter also made it clear to me.
However what I did not expect was 7 people rushing in at once, especially when they dictate my actions and apparently can't wait patient for me to even answer the first customer.
Thanks, I do appreciate this, it's not at all that I don't want to interact with all your characters; I do. But this is just irrational, and 7 people talking to one shopkeeper in real life would never happen.
Cheers for your understanding and please, although it may seem petty, can more people follow this and edit thier posts to take them somewhere else for now, or at least for thier characters to wait patiently for me to answer Ni!

Arathorn - the Cathay in question was Ni!'s, who had already handed over his armor to you. My character followed his in, and was noticing that Ni's character had just done that. Juhanor is currently loitering about in your shop.

"Nord." Qanar addressed the man "You know how to fix Gah-Julan?"
Qanar unbuckled and took off his armour of Morrowind origin and held it out toward the man.

That is how Ni! finished his post, it does not say that I adknowledged him, took the armour, or as you stated 'started working on it'.
In fact Kain had just 'put out' the forge, and so I was hoping to get some character interaction first.
