Desert Rose

EDIT: Changed a little something in my CS, figured Jax should have a locket to remember his parents by.

Name: Jax
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Race: Redguard

Who you're fighting for: Elsewyr

Birthsign: The Warrior

Skills: Blade; Heavy armor; Block; Tracking; Marksman; Speechcraft; Leadership

General Appearance: Dark skin, similar to all Reguards. Strong build, toned muscles. Scar down his back.
Hair: Black corn rows swept back.
Eyes: Green

Weapons: Ivory longsword; Ivory shield; Ivory bow and arrows

Armour/Clothing: Ivory armor

Other Items: A small locket with a painted portrait of his parents inside. Jax always keeps this wrapped around his neck.

Personality: Charismatic; Somewhat conceited; Aggressive if someone takes a shot at him

Brief History: Jax comes from a noble family in High Rock. His father was a trained warrior that served in the High Rock military. He taught Jax how to fight, and whenever he had an opportunity, Jax would pick a fight. However, when he turned seventeen, his parents were viciously murdered when Jax was away. After years of searching, he found the people responsible, and returned the favor.

However, he couldn't have done this without pulling some legal strings to cover it up. During Jax's vendetta, he met a Nord named Brug. This Nord was actually higher up in High Rock's nobility then many Redguards, and he was able to cover up Jax's brutality towards the murderers. Brug was also a military advisor in Elsewyr. When he told Jax about the war, Jax hopped in the earliest ship to the country.

Reason for Fighting: He hopes that in Elsewyr, he will find solace from the things that he did, and the things that were done to him. Also, one of his parent's murderers was Bosmer, and that has made him make generalizations about the Wood Elves.

Thanks for reading, hope I'm up to your guys' standards, cuz this thing looks awesome!

omg, me too. But at the same time, I'm like--ahh! am I ready? I'm getting that feeling that I usually get right before going on stage.... :ahhh:

Someone I know pronounces it Els-wire. But elsewhere is correct as it seems the name comes from a Khajiit proverb. "perfect society is always elsewhere"

That's how I say it btw :-/ It seems I am the minority...

To the above poster, well, I can understand Lady Syl. Honestly, I never played an RP before, and don't really know if my writing skills are up to it  I think they are, but.... Don't know if that's what you, Lady Syl, feel (I doubt it, since I've read your fanfic and you write greatly lol), but at least that's the issue with me... Ah well, gotta start someday or I'll never get good at it!

And yeah, it's just a forum RP so...

Haha, I'm assuming I'll be on the Bosmer side of things :P

You can start it without me if need be, I'll hopefully have a CS filled out tomorrow.

Well, I though that "Breif History" was supposed to be breif.... none the less...
Also, can I have more info on what this actually is, (i.e. is it like, you make some massive mod for Oblivion, or is it just some written thing you are doing?)

It's late for us GMs in New Zealand (Ni) and Australia (Me), alas. The Rp will, however start soon. I hate you time-zones.

Edit: And I bet Ni's asleep. They're 2 and a half hours from my state and city (which would be around 12:30am for him).

I know, but I haven't really done this before--not in a very long time anyway...

I say "Elzwehr". That's how I've always pronounced it...

And yes, that's how I feel. I'm glad you like my writing, but it's one thing to write a story completely on my own--writing with other people is not as easy, because I don't have total freedom to DOMINATE!!! *Ahem* Sorry about that... But yeah, it's a little more nerve-wracking, because I don't know if I'll be very good at it... :flamed:

That makes three of us who are unsure of our abilities! What better way to learn though, eh? I'm sure you'll be fine, milady. I've checked out the first few posts of your fiction on Chorrol.com, and it's fantastic!

Personally, I call it "Else-where" based on the Khajiit proverb.

Edit: Are we waiting on equal numbers? Because I've got an idea for a character that could be on either side, whichever needs more. However, I think my idea would suit Valenwood more. Mer banding with mer, and all.

Ii'm just gonna go for a Bosmer, almost finished the character sheet. do I send the sheet to the GM of valenwood or to both, Ni and Schmuty Buncis?
I just wondered, is there a restriction on were-creatures or parents bein were-creatures? he ownes a necklace with a wooden head of a mountain lion which he got from his mother and father. the animal would represent what they become in their changed form, but the curse (or gift) hasn't yet manifested or possibly won't withing him. I'm not sure if I want him to be a were, so i thought to add that as a possibility, if it could add anything to the story.

edit: is it even possible for were parents to give there curse to their child?

If I am not mistaken, they would prefer it if you sent your char sheet to both of them. And I'm not really sure about the were-creature thing, so you'll just have to ask them, as they are in charge. Sounds cool to me, though. :D

If he can transform into a mountain-lion werecreature that's gonna majorily confuse the khajiits I think. Unless they can smell his true heritage that is. :P

I've send it to Ni! and Schmuty Buncis.

I gues creatures can smell the difference between normal animals and were's, not implying that khajiit are just low creatures, but they do have better noses so i guess they'd be able to tell. and he isn't a were from the start. i added the option for later on, so if It'd be al right for the others i can still decide if he'll become one or not. I'd love playing a were but i'm not sure yet.

Have you sent a character sheet to the GM's for approval yet?

Trust me when I say this place is much more of an accepting community now then it was when I started joining RP's. Most of the elitists have been run out with torches and pitchforks or have changed their ways with our brainwashing methods and being nobody is going to call you on anything just because it's your first RP or anything.

This could be very beneficial to Valenwood, though. I could see very interesting results from this... :D

Really? How long ago was that? Because when I first started (many, many moons ago) everyone was incredibly supportive. Although, I didn't join any of the "major" RP's at the time. Preferring to stick to the less popular ones (I use the term loosely, it's not an insult to anyone I RP'd with, I had a great time), where my obvious lack of experience wouldn't be so evident.

But I'm glad that those of us who're a bit unsure have an excellent community to help us out.
