I really like the look and coloring of the cactus. Also, the dilapidated building in the background. The only part I don't like is he color of the green bushes, too bright for the setting, unless those bushes are being cultivated by a small community for harvest, maybe berries on the bushes or something. In that case, the bushes would be a nice juxtaposition of life amidst the ruins.

One of the themes we will be dealing with is regrowth and rebuilding. After X amount of time (notice that sly dodge about the timeline), there is bound to be some amount of rebirth. We've had some long (LONG) discussions about how much of that we want to present, how much is natural and how much is man-made.

Of the 4 so far, This one makes me think Fallout the most.

Not that the others as concept art are bad. :)

Hello, first of all i found it very great of gamesas to show the concept art to receive feedback officially.
The concept art looks good although im not sure if such huge cacti exist and im not a expert. I hope the buildings and the environment in the world won`t be artificially big just to have room for X-thousand of MMO players it would really hurt the atmosphere.

PS: Moar!

Agreed. The building in the background, and the obviously mutated strain of cacti are very nice. We haven't had much exposure to mutated plants in fallout so far (apart from a talking plant :D ) so I think more flora that looks obviously affected by the war, but isn't dead, is a good thing.
The bright colours in the bushes do provide an interesting contrast to the rest of the wastes, this is obviously a rather interesting area, certainly one I would like to investigate. How did the survivors cultivate such fantastic plants? What purpose are they being grown for? Are the berries edible? Are they used to produce poisons that they trade with raiders in exchange for protection? Are they used in the production of drugs? This could be one of the mafias top security areas our intrepid explorer has stumbled upon here. Not necessarily a good thing. :p
This is ace. Keep up the good work. :)

So many flowers in desert like a garden? I don't like it. The desert must be... desert. :D Fallout Vault BG | Vault Tec RSS News | Botland - free forum only for bots

As one who spent considerable time in Arizona the desert does bloom during parts of the year.

Plus its a game guys.. we pay to be entertained.
If we want reality we can step outside.. so if the developers want a GREEN catcus then so be it!

Well I for one follow the Gamma World principle with regards to big plants in the post apocalypse. 90% of the time they are aggressive. So I am picturing those spines flinging at me (ala Hakunen's garden) and those whip thingys grabbing me.

In regards to man made structures, it would be great to walk in to an area and be able to tell if was destroyed by an atomic bomb or if it had been deteriorating for years because humans were hiding in Vaults. Those are the kind of artistic touches, amongst many others, that appeal to me and will separate the game from other wannabe's.

Great art for this Game! I like how you're teasing us about locations in the Game, keep it up! Image

Here's hoping for a Beatles-themed quest on V13.

Oh yeah..except all that radiated...dead desert...I can experience "some areas" of mutated flora and fauna, a lot of intoxicated fungi...ohh yeah...just don't go to far creating some amazon forest...at least not now...make this a transition era...anyway you can always make some expansions I suppose so...I just wander would that G.E.C.K. create like an amazon forest or ???? so maybe if you really want some area of forest for those "new" players that love forest ??? make it around some G.E.C.K. story...far from old school fans like me...I love mutated plants but not forests because you creators could get lost there creating some stupid species or whatever...well anyway this picture represents the best proportion of plants... Its better to live 3 days as a Lion, then spend the rest of your life as a hyena!

Less foliage, or maybe less green IMHO. If you see Metal Maniac, let him know I'm looking for 'em.

like it cept the green seems to green for a fallout enviorment. By that time most plants would be more on the stubborn weed-side rather then the blooming look how pretty side.
