Yes. Imagine Borderlands meets Defiance, only where both are good.

Damn, I missed the moon event. My girlfriend told me she got special weapons for completing the one moon level.

Oh yea. Do we get to keep our characters for the full game? or are they gonna get deleted?

Bungie is unsure on whether they will let beta progress transfer or not. I don't think it needs to be personally. It takes less than a day to get to level 8 and with the level cap lifted, any weapon or armor you got attached to in the beta would soon be replaced anyway as you level up.

Also, has anyone found any use for the Pulse Rifle? I've attempted using it on a few occasions but I just can't like it. It feels useless compared to the Scout Rifle and the Auto Rifle that can get the job done faster.

I've got a fairly decent one with 27 rounds per mag, but I replaced that with a far superior Auto Rifle that slows its rate of fire when in ADS mode. I still have yet to find a gun that goes beyond 24-27 rounds a mag. Pulse Rifles are fine though in this game.

I've played some of the beta.
The game is not as amazing as we were led to believe.
It's basically just another FPS, but with some RPG stuff thrown in. Lots of fun, but not worth buying until a price drop.

No.
Destiny is not a MMO. Borderlands is not a MMO.
Both can be played alone, or with multiplayer, but there's not really traditional MMO-ing in either.
Bungie calls it "shared world shooter"... Basically just multiplayer co-op.

That's pretty much what I said the first day I tried it. Though my little brother gave it a 10/10 because "you can see your feet when you look down and there's capes."

I officially have a mancrush on my Awoken Warlock

I missed the moon too. From what I read, our stuff won't carry over which svcks as I have some ideal gear for my Warlock...everything boosts strength (I like to melee), my helmet makes melee reduce grenade charge time, my gauntlets reduce reload time for my Hand Cannon and so on which makes my Warlock a boss.

loving the new avatar bro :D

I've used an upgradable Pulse Rifle which had auto fire when holding the trigger and normal pulse fire when tapping it, it had high impact and did 64 damage iirc which made it a pretty strong weapon. I used it until I fell in love with the Hand Cannon and got good enough to pull off headshots like a pro...nothing's more satisfying then headshot kills with the Hand Cannon either all in succession (I pulled off 5 in a row many times) or from far away.

I'm really bummed about not keeping the gear as I've found a level 10 Hand Cannon that does 92 base damage and has all sorts of sweet upgrade options.

I would prefer things get reset anyways. Beta should stay beta. It is more fair to newer players. Not like it takes very long to get to level 8.

In my experiences, if you can hit max level in the beta in a day, it will take a couple days to do it in the retail release

Well Max level will differ in the released game. I hope leveling takes longer in the retail release. In any case, when you level to 8 in the beta, you can still level in some ways. There are further upgrades to be obtained.

I'm all for a character reset in fairness as you say but they should let us keep what we stash in the vault, especially since items are leveled locked so it's not like we can use them right away and gain any advantage.

An update just dropped, are they talking about extending the Beta?

Welp, looks like the beta is over. All that's left now is the wait until release.

You are going to share the game? You getting two versions with one of them being the LE? Or just the LE? If the latter? Woo...good luck.

Wait...you can't split screen the game right?

We're gonna get one LE and bet on the goodies. Loser gets to play the bare bones game, Winner gets all the stuff that comes with it (And I'm gonna win :bunny: ).

And I have no clue if the game has split screen. [censored], I haven't played split screen since halo 2.....or 3...I can't remember. :P Would be cool if there was split though.

Does the LE have any exclusive things in-game of any substance?

So...new items, maps, missions, ships, expansion passes etc...not like it has the whole works or anything...

Dammit, I won't be able to order it as I don't yet know the new address I will have when I go back to school.

What was the first? There's only been a few day one sells for me, Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim are all that come to mind at the moment. Skyrim was the only game I went to a midnight release as I just couldn't wait to get my hands on a new TES :)

You'd better get on it, word is that this limited edition is truly limited and some Gamestops are forced to refuse orders.

It sounds like you're in the sort of relationship where you win by default :P
