Pretty much. All that's left now is waiting for the game. And after getting a small taste of it in a beta, it's a hard wait to get the full experience.
Loving my Hunter. I switch between a auto rifle and scout rifle depending on range. Scout for medium range, auto for low range and then to the sniper rifle for long range.
Gunplay wise, it plays a lot like Halo. And in a lot of ways it resembles an MMO. But overall, it's still a RPG. You'll pick between three classes that act as the traditional warrior, rogue, and mage (but its sci-fi so its awesome), which each having their own unique abilities and specializations. You'll level up and continuously upgrade your abilities and gain new ones as you go. Obtaining equipment (such as weapons and armor) is very loot based like Borderlands with different levels of rarity that you can upgrade the more you use them. You'll find loot from killing enemies, rewards upon completion of quest, in loot boxes, and so forth. Your main area of operations is the City, which acts as a hub for players to find all they need. NPCs selling things, a vault to keep all of your stuff in, different aesthetics for emblems, armor, your ship, etc., a bounty board that offers different challenges for both PvE and PvP, all sorts of activity.
Outside the hub is the solar system (although the beta restricts it to only Earth), in which you'll be going on different planets that offer story missions, strike missions which advise for co-op play, or just the opportunity to explore and find side quest. Like an MMO, there will be other players around no matter what, so you may run across others every so often. There are areas throughout the planet however known as Darkness zones that happen during missions that can sometimes restrict things to solo play like in story missions (unless its a strike mission, then it will just restrict it to the players of that mission) and don't allow respawning, so upon death the zones starts you back from the start (or again, unless its a strike mission, someone revives you). You can also start a fire team with other players, although I don't know the full extent of what it offers as I have not used it with another player yet. I think that may allow other players in your fire team to come along with you in Darkness zones no matter what? Just a guess.
Among other things, there is a PvP location in the system that allows you go up against players with different game modes and maps.
Those are the basics. Very descriptive basics, but yeah. It's really fun. The beta is doing its job correctly in having me crave for the full game.
@Jack: Well, so far I'd say its my game of the year as well. But I haven't played many of the new games that have release this year besides The Stick of Truth.
I'm playing the beta now and wow, Great game. I've never been a fan of MMO's but this is just fun.
And on the PS3, The game doesn't look half bad.
Edit-Can other people join me in doing quests? I just made this PSN so I've got no one on my friend list.
Thanks for the info, I guess I'll try sticking it out with the Warlock and see how it goes...it's just that the first grenade power I unlocked seems kinda weak but I guess the powers get better later. Being good for groups is good for me as I'll likely be going solo as my friends aren't interested in the game.
I'm on 360 or else I would link up with you.
Damn, All the cool kids are playing on PS4.
If anyone is playing on PS3 add me. My PSN is Marky_Mark112
Wondering where I got the name? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eSN8Cwit_s
I'm unoriginal when it comes to names lol.
Nah, I'm still saving up for a laptop of my own. PS4 can wait.
As for the beta. I'm not sure when it's over, But I don't want it to end yet.
Question to you vet beta players. On the second story level, How many of you guys died from some enemies called Hallowed knight? I was just wandering in those dark tunnels and BAM those [censored]ers killed my level 3 ass.
