Destiny discussion #2

I didn't even have time to get a shot off. As soon as they saw me the bastards killed me. I think I'm to low a level to mess with them tbh. The second time I tried to attack they were immune to it.

Edit- [censored], The hive just killed me.

If I know what you're talking about, those enemies can't be harmed in the beta. Me and a fried went at them last night, and they were immune to everything up to and including my golden gun.

It's probably those. They shot some blue bombs or something at me an I was dead with one hit.

I just killed the wizard. :mohawk: That was fun as hell.

Vortex grenade? I don't know about you, but I'm loving it. In PvP it makes for a good way to chase away other players from a specific spot like the control points. I actually didn't like the next grenade type you unlock that breaks into smaller explosives. That one really felt as if it did no damage.

Vortex is also great for temporary doors. And if you feel the pressure from any Fallen, blast that thing at your feet to make a melee shield. They'll still shoot at you, but you'll be safe from any blades or Stealth Vandals inside your own personal, purple orb.

Scatter grenades are better for crowds in PvE. I found some use for them, but I'm looking forward to the Axion Bolt Seekers. Most likely, I'll stick with Vortex until I graduate to Fire Singer. (Can't wait for the Arc subclass beyond that.) Too bad I'll be so busy with college to play this beauty of a game as much as I want.

Pretty much what I do on any game ever. Too bad no heads explode in confetti like a certain game...

I've noticed that if the enemy has 2 question marks in a red box where their level is supposed to appear then they're invulnerable...I've encountered a double question Captain in a cave that was invincible just like the knights.

I may have misjudged it, I played my first Crucible PvP after reaching level 5 and it's definitely effective though I was getting my butt handed to me by a team of level 8's that clearly play the crap out of this game :P

huh never thought to use it like that...I'll be borrowing that technique

Intalling the game now. Taking forever. I guess 12 gigs will do that. Will try it out and speak from experience instead of just looking at pretty pictures and saying I don't like it. Like how they ride on a jet bike in the video. Almost wish titan fall had jet bikes. Thing is I quit Titanfall because I svck at these games. I don't think Destiny will be any different. Not the game, just I svck FPS. :(

Good thing it isn't PVP only. I really like the missions and free roam you can do with others.

Since Bungie is doing that special thing tomorrow where you get on at 2pm PST for the emblem, they're also opening up the missions on the moon.

Dang. Still downloading. My son downloaded it for his 360, already installed and he is playing while I am still downloading. Must be a big difference file wise on the Xbox One and PS4 compared to PS3 and 360.

Huh. My GF downloaded it on the PS3 and she said it was pretty quick. Maybe it's the internet speed?

Anyways, While the girl's away, I shall play!

The game is pretty neat so far. It's like Borderlands and halo got together and had a love child.

The hunter is badass. I love blasting dumb aliens from far off. Which race did the rest of you guys go with? I went with an Exo-hunter.

Went with an Exo male Hunter for the final few days. Played around a bit with the others, but finally decided on the Hunter.

In the Alpha, Warlock was my favorite.

Exo Titan.

Might go with a Hunter when I get the full version.

im torn between using the warlock for the amazing mobility and short range teleporting, or the hunter for the speed.

Not impressed with the graphics at all. I guess that it's been hyped so much about next gen graphics, I am not awed at all. Gosts, BF4, Titanfall and now Destiny. Yes while I know it's in Beta I am not impressed with the graphics. It's not Destiny but all next gen games.

Had some fun. Fingers are sore, Not use to the Xbox one controller. Don't like it, find the 360 controller is WAY better. Still I lasted longer than I did any other FPS game. Guess because I am not being shot against humans is why I lasted so long. LOL.

Game is fun for now. Doesn't grab me. Then again the games I mentioned earlier didn't impress me either. I guess I am not a FPS type player.

$500 million cost to get to the Sept. release?

Or $500 million for release + support + followup?

You should clear all the beta content by Sunday, which is apparently the end date. Then you have PVP and loot fest for the rest of the beta.

I was level three, maybe four, and went through there on the higher difficulty setting. It is doable. I haven't encountered anything I couldn't kill in the game yet, so idk what some people might be talking about in regards to that. I remember hallowed knights, they die if shot at enough.

Happy to help a fellow Warlock. It really comes in handy during wave fights in strikes or missions.
I think the Hollowed Knights referred to were of the Level ?? variant. (Really they were level 20, which is Beta-speak for invincible.)

I managed to kill the one past Skywatch with the help of some strangers. They distracted him and lured him out while I rammed him off the cliff with my trusty ol' sparrow. Pretty great. I danced while they freaked out, naturally.

Exo Warlock. If there is ever a chance of playing as a robot I take it.

Holy crap, that final level...thankfully I had a friend with me or else I don't think I would've pulled it off with my level 6 Warlock. I reached level 8 after all that though which is cool and blowing up that baby Deathstar felt satisfying :D

I noticed that the vault is accessible to every one of your characters....just thought I'd share that for those who aren't aware.

I hope the moon missions aren't just during that 2pm window.

I maxed my Awoken Warlock last night then started on a Human Titan as I really enjoy punching things in the face

ha that's awesome.
