Maybe. Or maybe I just never ran into them? Pretty much played every level on the harder mode. Explored quite a bit. I remember an enemy called Hallowed Knight and I remember killing it. Did most of the content under leveled and solo. Then did it again with my makeshift fire team squad.

I made an Exo that is the spitting image of bumblebee from the newer transformer movies. Just in a smaller size.

I still have no idea what Exos even are. Or what the Fallen are. Aren't the Fallen the bad guys?

Just got done playing the beta and the level 8 is capped me at. Gotta say, will definitely be picking this one up. I enjoy the solo/co-play style of it, so it does its best to cater to everyone. I decided to jump in a few co-op missions and it was really fun. No chat, but that's okay. Took out that armored spider looking thing nonetheless.

My character was a human female. I wanted the sniper rifle ability, because that's my strength. I'm not into the whole "magic" side of power play, but the game does a pretty good job of choice. Too many, and it would be more difficult to pick.

Did they open the moon?

There are killable Hallowed Knights; there are just particular areas of the Beta that Bungie doesn't want us in yet, or they just want a sadistic challenge. Enter the public area after the first time meeting the Hive, and you'll find an invincible one hidden by the overlook on the right-hand side.
Exos were made in the Golden Age by the humans (or something else) to help defend Earth against a powerful enemy, perhaps the Darkness. They have somehow gained true sentience. They are so complex, only a Ghost can understand their workings.

The Fallen are a once-noble race which has become ignorant and animal-like, though there are still some Fallen who act somewhat decent. (Namely, some civilized ones are seen in the Reef, which is a home in space for the Awoken.)

The Fallen, as a whole, still act as though they are royalty, hanging banners in their lairs and wearing garb specific to their Kell, or leader.

Shoot them in the head; their souls pop out.

I don't think it's going to be much, honestly. It looks like just one small area is going to be open, not the whole thing. Probably a sneak peek at a new enemy, and it'll probably wipe us off the map.

Thanks for the info. I actually like a lot of the setting so far, so I am a little interested in the lore of the game as well as the gameplay.

[censored] flying Pig balls. I nearly got my ass killed when going up against those chosen wizards. First two of them, then those damn hooded knights, then more of those stupid melee aliens. Jeez, I thought it'd never end.

In the Beta, is the Earth the full level in the retail release?

No. I don't think so. It just says old russia. It would be a bit odd if old russia was the whole earth. Clearly there would be room for higher level areas. This game has quite the budget, so it would not be so small as that. There will be other planets and moons in the game too.

EDIT: As for the Moon. I think I will skip it. The PVE has me pretty sold so far. What I need to test out more is the PVP. I like it so far, but I want other game modes. However, I am in the middle of a really good part of an anime series and I can't pull myself away lol.

The moon was pretty interesting. All the trembling made me feel on edge. I think it's only the one mission though, shame since more open up.

Which weapon did you guys pick as a reward?

Welp, Just hit the level cap. Can't wait for the full game!

The Shotgun, fusion rifles are meh, and i preferred the upgrades of my current sniper.

Fusion rifle. Only because its the only weapon type I have yet to get to 62 damage. I prefer shotguns for the most part.

I am also hoping Old Russia isn't the only part of Earth to see. We haven't seen all of Old Russia yet, but there has to be more than one area on Earth or any of the other planets we'll be visiting in the full game.

I played and beat both difficulties on the story mission, so I went back to just explore. I managed to make it tremendously far down the Hell Mouth. Man was that creepy. There was this massive beast that spit purple beams from its mouth called The Chosen One. I even found a passage that connected back up with the Temple of Crota.

There's still more to explore, and I found a public event in which players fight a high level servitor. Too bad I had to do that by myself. Level capped and fully equipped with uncommons along with Level 13 equivalent stats and it still took forever to shoot that thing down.
Upon announcement, there was a panel where Joseph Staten referred to additional areas. Perhaps they were cut, but an interesting one that caught my eye was the Mumbai Push. Post-apocalyptic India is something I want to see.

Sniper rifle, and this game makes the secondary weapon awesome in those critical moments.

Now that I've done the moon, I keep getting a server error when I try to play another character. Rather than wait to figure out what's going on, I decided to uninstall the game. It's just easier to start with a clean slate. Bungie said the stuff was tied to our account, but we'll see how that goes. I won't mind it if I lost all my stuff, because getting it again will be half the fun.

Well, back to Dead Space.

What I mean is, so that are was Russia. Is that the only map for Russia. And if it is I guess it will be that same map recycled for the higher levels?

There would likely be dozens of other areas on Earth, if not, more will likely be added later in the games life. Earth might be sparse and the Solar System is robust or vice versa. Hard to know at this point. They might recycle some areas for higher levels, but how would we know yet? There might be other areas of Russia that we haven't reached yet. Seems like some areas were restricted because of the beta.

PVP needs a lot of work. I can feel the hand of ACODvision in a few of the maps. Warlocks are waaaay too OP.

Is this a MMO? I am a bit puzzled what this is supposed to be.
