Its too bad that the marks/cloaks/bonds are 100% pointless and purely cos, etic, save only the ones that make you gain rep with x faction.

Just to clarify

Common (white) -> Uncommon (green) -> Rare (blue) -> Legendary (purple) -> Exotic (orange)

The loot system is getting depressing. I won 2 rumble matches first place. Dead last got legendary engram. I got nothing both wins.

Got my first legendary last night. A Titan chestpiece. It's absolutely marvelous having a character in all three classes

Der Fürher speaks the Truth. If even one of the many Legendary Gauntlet Engrams turned out to actually be legendary, then I would not farming as much as i am now just to get blasted Crucible marks.

So I've spent like 4 hours the last couple days in the loot cave in the Cosmodrome. Some pretty good hauls, and either way it's a great way to get glimmer, xp and lvl up Cryptarch rank.

Nope it's completely random. Sometimes you get a bunch of drops instantly and other times you have to kill a few hundred of them just to see a green.

If anyone gets too close to the cave, enemies will stop spawning from it. You have to keep quite a distance from it for them to continuously spawn.

Ohh thats what he meant. Yea stay back by the slanted contrite pillar because if you get any closer than only acolytes will spawn. Closer still and nothing will.

There isn't necessarily a certain way you should be equipped at a certain level. It's all entirely random for everyone. Some folk are more lucky than others and are able to get an exotic by level 24. Some people are level 26 and haven't even seen an exotic and are still using some rare gear.

If you're starting to feel as if you're stuck and not getting anything, you should try getting your rep up for one of the factions (as well as get some marks) and buy your own legendary gear. You also get one free legendary item from a faction upon getting to rank 3 for them.

How do you rank up with a faction? How do you even join one?

I'm using rares. I don't mind, I love the way my character looks. I've got Rustburner armor, giving 711 defense, 36% Intellect, 24% Discipline and 64% Strength. It's only rare, but I'll probably stick with until I can the full Dead Orbit set.

EDIT: You don't really "join" factions, but to rank up with one (like Dead Orbit) you approach the representative and buy a mark/cloak/bond. When you wear that item, your Vanguard and Crucible score goes toward the faction rank. You have to be level twenty, and you can't earn for the Crucible or Vanguard.

Thanks for all the info guys. I just got my first blue item. A pretty nice Assault rifle, which is awesome because that's my weapon of choice. Still haven't received any rare armor though. I'm now Level 14. Still doing story missions on the Moon and I just unlocked the Moon strike. Looking forward to checking that out. I've been having a lot of fun with the Control game mode in the Crucible.

Of all the strikes currently available, the one on the Moon is the worst. I skipped it and moved on. Eventually came back during the Strike Playlist where me and 3 others barely survived.

God I hate that strike.

I mean, just seeing who you'll be fighting at the end will leave you with these responses:

"Holy [censored]."
"[censored]"
"I have to fight that?"

That's just the boss. And that's not the annoying part. You'll see when you get there. Don't want to spoil too much.

You're scaring me lol. Is it just not fun or is it cheap?

Also, there's a Strike playlist?

Both, look at my edit.

You'll eventually unlock a strike playlist. 4 random strikes in a row with 3 randoms could also be paired with the same. They start out at 18, 20, 22, and 24.

To give you a glimpse of the Moon strike. On other strikes depending on how well I'm playing, I'll die during any strike around 6 times.

I died 24 times at the Moon strike with the boss alone.
