I'm probably going to buy some Legendary armor from the Vanguard tomorrow. Couple more bounties and I'll be at level 2. I also need one more mote of light to buy the random Exotic piece. Hope it doesn't screw me over, but knowing my luck...

- Yep. I have an exotic chest piece named "Heart of the Praxic Fire" as well as gauntlets named "Sunbreakers" (both acquired from Xur). I'm in the process of unlocking Thorn via a exotic bounty.

- I would rate it an 8. I like the game and I'm really enjoying it for the time being but i am worried about it's longevity and lack of story.

I was pretty disappointed with Xur's selection of exotics this week. They didn't bother changing the exotic armor for warlocks as it's still Sunbreaker (gauntlets which do a Voidwalker no good) and the exotic weapon wasn't what I was looking for either. Although I did buy the Gjallarhorn (which is a pretty good heavy weapon for its price).

But today was an absolute grind. Got an exotic bounty for Bad Juju with one of the requirements being completing 25 strikes. Doesn't sound too bad as a long-term goal, but at some point during the bounty you have to go to Xur to get something for the weapon and he leaves early Sunday(?) so I spent a good amount of the night completing strikes as quick as I could before then. Overall, I'm not sure if it was worth it. The weapon has a terrible magazine size of 15 (five burst) with absolutely no impact. Barely leaves a dent on larger enemies. The upgrades show that the weapon has some potential later on as there is one that allows kills to reload the weapon automatically, which I suppose would fix the magazine size issue, but I don't know. Will probably have to let the bounties level this weapon before I can actually use it.

I just did my first strike yesterday. I started off with two fire team members who didn't stay (one left at the 3 runes gate and the other during the tank battle), leaving me all by myself to finish off the tank. It took about 10 minutes, only because its health was already low. Just stay in the tunnel on the right side, and boom... down it went.

This left me all alone with Septimus. About mid-way through its yellow health bar, two more people showed up, but I guess the battle was too lame for their level 22 skills, and they bolted after they required a few respawns from yours truly. This left me alone again. Good. I like it this way.

I kid you not, about 10 seconds prior to delivering the final blow, two more showed up, but they quickly took cover. I just unleashed my machine gun for the kill, and down it went.

When the summary screen popped up, I had over 400 kills, and two loot rewards. The others had 0 kills, 0 assists, and no loot, all because they showed up in time to get the exp and Vanguard bonuses. I should have had it all, but I know the game doesn't do that.

A few minutes later, I got a message: "YOU BEAT THAT THING BY YOURSELF????" (exactly how it was written). I replied back, "Yep. Not to hard when you stay covered. Just took forever."

I got a reply back: "THAT'S SOME SH**! BE ON MY TEAM NEXT TIME. I'LL FRIEND YOU." (I guess he likes caps).

Never got the request.

I also got my first hate message. Apparently, as the last guardian standing, it was my duty to revive my team. I don't ever revive team members if I'm the last. It's suicide. Instead, I just stay under cover for 30 seconds. This prevents the Darkness screen, that's for sure, yet I never see anyone else do this when I'm down. They always try to revive as last guardian.

So if you're playing, take this with you: if you're the last guardian standing, duck and cover and wait 30 seconds. It's better than dying and having to restart.

I wrote the person back explaining this, they finally got the message with the reply "That makes sense. Sorry."

I will say this, if you're thinking of teaming up with me: I play as support. I generally run around taking out the smaller enemies while you focus on the big one. Of course, if you don't know I do this, it's pretty hard to establish a plan of attack. By doing this, I'm generally the Last Guardian Standing, and you'll be back in 30 seconds (sooner, if you died in a place I can easily get to you).

I did today two Vanguard strikes, and i got a blue helmet and a blue hand equipment with light on those two.

So, it shows light 20 on my stats now. Nice...But it took me 2 plus 2 hours to finish those. Holy cow. !!!

Just reached level 20! YES!

Will be doing some Vanguard strike missions soon, though I find them to be quite annoying, having to kill an enemy that is pretty much just a bullet sponge for 10 minutes straight

Also how do I level up past 20? (Please explain in detail)

OP. Just so you know, the consoles that are tbe same kind play on the same server, so PS3 people are on same servers as PS4, ETC.

You need to find/buy armor that have light on it. The amount of light depends on the armor type. Rare -> Legendary -> Exotic. Each defense upgrade for armor with light will add two additional light. The goal is to have one piece of Exotic, fully upgraded and the rest being legendary, fully upgraded. Chest pieces offer the most light so you're going to want an Exotic chest piece.

Wow, yesterday started out as a fresh lvl 24 and by the end of the day I reached lvl 26. Also yesterday got my first piece of legendary armor the Negrial Savant III. Got the Sunbreakers from Xur also and finally if I thought my luck ran out, besides getting a legendary rocker launcher I also got the Exotic machine gun Thunderlord.
