Whilst I'm inclined to agree, you really need to guarantee that the lower levels are going to hold their own. I'm not expecting a level 28 to solo the gatekeepers, but if I'm picking up too much of their slack then screw them.

You can gear to 29 with full legendary and 1 exotic, all without even touching the raid! All it takes is for you to level to 27, start the normal raid and get some raid experience under your belt. When you hit 29 and have pulled some Oracle disrupting weapons like Atheons Epilogue, Vision of Confluence, Praedyth's Revenge etc and maxed them out, only then should you be even attempting the hard raid.

I'll agree to some extent but what you need more importantly on the raid is a team thats in sync an knows what their doing before they do it or otherwise you end up with a team of 29s or higher that dont have a clue whos going on what side an defending which conflux so all though it might be goo to have high levels with maxed weapons ill take the 27s that do less damage but communicate more over 30s who dont say a thing.

In the normal raid, sure - I'd much rather take a group of 27's who are keen to learn, ready to listen and happy to communicate over a group of 30's who have relied on cheeses and RNG ti get where they are and don't have mics.

Hard mode is a different story - I still won't run it with any less than 3x30's and 3x29's, and the 29's must have maxed weapons. They still have to communicate though

So I just ran the raid on hard and got nothing but energy and shards until the Gatekeeper. He dropped Corrective Measure and Hezen Vengeance - then Atheon dropped 2 raid helms, another Vex Mythoclast and an Icebreaker!
