It always really bugged me that Kvatch remained in ruins.
Same goes for Bruma mages guild.

Yes, if things are destroyed, they should be rebuilt when everything calms down.

It was a really stupid moment in the MQ where you went to get aid for Bruma and came to find Savlian Matius standing aimlessly in the main hall, with everything still in flames. So, yes.

I did think it was odd that Kvatch was still burning like...300 hours after completed the quest. Hell, a REAL fire would burn out before then.

Indeed, at the very least put the damn fires out. The Bruma Mages Guild had the exact same problem. Just a building in a city burning forever.

I never understood why the idea of rebuilding Kvatch, said to have been cut out due to 'time constraints', wasn't resurrected for a DLC.

maybe not gradual!

I will take a sudden (after a reasonable time) rebuild city if gradual is not possible or too time consuming to make. So you sleep one day and the game loads for a tinny bit longer and the city is back :P as I said all this happens after the reasonable time has passed.

Indeed. I don′t know how much work they had done on it already before it was scrapped, but it probably would′ve saved them some time. And it was a popular request from what I remember.

I think all of the damage that is inflicted in game should be fixable - the center if Imperial City after the main quest looked horrible, and I can't imagine anyone not even bothering to clear the rubble in the center of the capital. And I'm not even talking about anything else... Everything that was destroyed should be posible to rebuild and renovate, so after the main quest is done we don't have to continue playing in a wrecked world.

It would be awesome if dragons just set towns a blaze randomly, and then the towns would rebuild themselves a little while later. So then the random quest giver could make a few missions off of the dragon attacks.

That's certainly true, while buildings would only be rebuilt if someone made an effort to rebuild them fires would eventually burn out naturally even if no one put them out.

But I agree that if any cities get destroyed during Skyrim's storyline, they should get rebuilt after a while, not suddenly rebuilt after the main quest is completed, but gradually rebuilt as time passes or if the story requires that they stay destroyed for a time they can get rebuilt as you progress through the story, so you get the rebuilding effort progresses over time feel but the developers can still make sure they don't get rebuilt when they still need to be ruins. Cities shouldn't need you to help to be rebuilt either, after all, you're job is to slay dragons, not build cities, though there could be an optional questline where you can help with the rebuilding effort in some way, I suppose, maybe by helping the people get materials needed for the proccess or finding people to help with the project or something, doing these quests could make the place get rebuilt more quickly, but it could still be rebuilt without your help.

Possibly I wasn't clear enough. I suppose I assumed too much like everyone would know I meant realistic time frame. I will clear that up now.

I'd like to be able to see the cities destroyed to gradually rebuild even during the game before you finished the main quest. Kind've like the quest where you have to stop the goblin war and then you can watch the new town being built slowly over a few months.

I love that quest it felt like i had some importance on that town

Yes that is exactly what I was aiming to accomplish with this suggestion. It is depressing going to destroyed constantly burning cities.

What a fantastic idea for a quest! Would be such a shocking and pleasant surprise, after having completed the main quest when you think it's all over and all of a sudden you get to rebuild these cities as a bonus.

Yes, absolutely. And it was truly a feel-good moment to see those people gradually recover. Amazing quest.

Thanks ^^
Glad you recognized it!
Stargate is one of my favourite series too, and Colonel Sheppard was my favourite character in Atlantis :)
Although I'm not a very big fan of Stargate Universe...

I think that would be okay for a mod or DLC but not the main game.

Sometimes people rebuild. Sometimes... well... look at Detroit -- and it didn't even get physically destroyed.

Literally LOL
