Destroyed elderscrolls cities

Bethesda lets face it you have a really REALLY bad wrap when it comes to destroying a city and leaving it that way. (not that our government doesn't already do the same thing. Why didn't we remake the twin towers again?) Also we see NPC's rebuilding there homes and shops and signs and walls and mining for and gathering the resources to re make that town. maybe even see some improvements to the town? Memorials and such. New leadership. It should take place in realistic time frame after a city has been destroyed. say a week after and people recuperate after the event in question as many of us know that dragons may destroy the cities.

Examples include, kavatch and the imperial city. So please do not do this. At the end of the game you give us everything on a silver platter but many of us know that after a conflict people would start to re build right? Examples in real life would be WWII, and so on. So should Bethesda after the games completion give us side quest to restore cities to there former glory?

Because the twin towers are a memorial to the people who died that day and it will cost a huge amount of money?

I'd like to be able to see the cities destroyed to gradually rebuild even during the game before you finished the main quest. Kind've like the quest where you have to stop the goblin war and then you can watch the new town being built slowly over a few months.

They are working on the World Trade Center site. In the real world those things take a long time.

I agree if they destroy a city they should have a huge quest line to rebuild it though. It would be neat if they referenced Kvatch rebuilt some way. They have acknowledged large mods before right?

It is also a giant victory sign to terrorist but that's another off topic thread for another day. If you wanna talk about it pm me. I promise i will consider what you say and not call you names. I Just have strong feelings about that. I think when you get knocked down you should get back strong then before not put a tattoo on your arm or look at your scar to remind you. . .

Sometimes people rebuild. Sometimes... well... look at Detroit -- and it didn't even get physically destroyed.

There was supposed to be a questline that deals with the aftermath of Kvatch and the political struggles of Cyrodiil's counts, but it was cut due to time constraints.

Hopefully, if cities or villages do get destroyed in Skyrim, they'll get rebuilt (And I'd prefer without our help. There's so much a hero can do. Doing the work pesky commoners are paid for shouldn't be a hero's work. :P )

Nope.

Nope.

I never knew that it would of made oblivion so much better. Yeah im not talking about hammering nails in lol I am talking about what if political struggles are halting the repairs of towns and we happen to be around and to get a item we help solve that problem. Or what ever in genius motive Bethesda could come up with. After all in new Vegas all I said was that I wanted some termite in the game and some stats on it and BOOM we get a main quest for it. It doesn't hurt to be vague.

Bethesda acknowledges a lot of things done by it's community.

I think it'd be nice to see towns being rebuilt after the fighting has stopped, but NPCs should also start rebuilding on your own, and the player should only have to help if he wants to. Maybe if he does it takes less time or something.

Or maybe after a year or so they could at least stop burning.

At least let the weather change. Poor perpetually dark and rainy Kvatch.

Not so much a quest. Maybe if you help out in the town by forging weapons, tilling fields and chopping wood it would help to speed it up, but it should be a natural regeneration over time.

Well that was strictly kavatch they actually changed that later on with the imperial city being attacked. So maybe that was just a mistake. :brokencomputer: :flamethrower:

I hope so... I want closure damnit!
I don't just like standing there to watch her burn.

like in Ocarina of Time when after you finshed the game... Zora's Domain was still frozen over...

So yes I would love things to be restored after awhile :)

Not after you finish the game the ability to rebuild should be days after the attack. Days because it would make more sense for people to collect themselves and then start rebuilding re populating etc etc

I always wondered why they never rebuilt Kavatch. Sad to know they planned on it but alas... Only so much time to develop a game. :sadvaultboy:

I'm going to assume the Dragons will destroy towns as it says you can sometimes happen upon them rauaging towns in the GI article. If that's the case I hope they get rebuilt over time. I really don't want to end up with a world full of burned down villages.

Sort of like the building of Raven Rock. Yes. I approve. Bethesda may now implement this feature.

That's certainly true, while buildings would only be rebuilt if someone made an effort to rebuild them fires would eventually burn out naturally even if no one put them out.

But I agree that if any cities get destroyed during Skyrim's storyline, they should get rebuilt after a while, not suddenly rebuilt after the main quest is completed, but gradually rebuilt as time passes or if the story requires that they stay destroyed for a time they can get rebuilt as you progress through the story, so you get the rebuilding effort progresses over time feel but the developers can still make sure they don't get rebuilt when they still need to be ruins. Cities shouldn't need you to help to be rebuilt either, after all, you're job is to slay dragons, not build cities, though there could be an optional questline where you can help with the rebuilding effort in some way, I suppose, maybe by helping the people get materials needed for the proccess or finding people to help with the project or something, doing these quests could make the place get rebuilt more quickly, but it could still be rebuilt without your help.

Could not agree more! I really wished there had been a rebuild Kavatch quest in TES4. I was hoping maybe the character would somehow become the leader of Kavatch after closing the oblivion gates and saving the world! There's a giant city, on top of a mountain with great views, homes, shops and a castle...such a waste. I was so rich by the end of the main quest I could have rebuilt the whole damn kingdom!
