I see that there are many topics about the usefulness of Destruction Magic, but this is not what this topic is about. I want to see if it's worth my time focusing on Destruction without the use of flames. Most enemies seem to be susceptible to fire and whenever I used Destruction Magic in the past I have always used flames. Is it possible to focus energy on Frost or Shock? I want to use Destruction but never using flames. Can it be done? Is it worth doing? I know a lot of enemies are resistant to Frost so I would use Frost and Shock together.

My current character has limited herself almost purely to Thunderbolt and Chain Lightning. While combat drags on somewhat, I have no issue whatsoever with succeeding, and that's related to the known issues of Destruction as a whole rather than my element choice. Also, personally I find the knockback hilarious - watching enemies go flying like bowling pins as you hit them with spells is good fun.
