Todd never said that they are "aiming" for any rating. He just said they expect an M
Well, Bethesda did say that they were aiming for/expecting a Mature rating.
. . . I know. :whistling: It amounts to the same thing. They built the game in anticipation of the M rating (meaning that it's highly unlikely they'll get a T) and as long as they don't get an advlt Only rating, they're fine.
I think gore will be in for finishing moves. The trailer already showed you stabbing a guy in the gut while he bends gasping over your blade -- whether or not it will be to the point of decapitation/dismemberment? I don't know. I think it fits in better with Fallout than the Elder Scrolls -- the Elder Scrolls don't feature explosions and energy beams -- but cleaving off limbs with a claymore might work for the gritty atmosphere that Skyrim is going for. This article was likely using some creative license, but that doesn't necessarily mean that those mechanics won't be in the game.
EDIT:
Well, its possible.
A better piece of evidence came from Todd saying that the devs were looking at some of the Oblivion mods--in particular one mod (I forgot the name, something to do with better combat). Anyways, in that mod you can decapitate people.
Deadly Reflex?
