Dev Diary #6

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 4:33 pm

Kind of surprised no one posted this yet, but anyway, here ya'll go, the 6th developer diary (which I found on NMA, thanks to the people there :) ), which is about the characters in the game for some reason is being hosted on yahoo.

* WARNING* There is one small spoiler in the video, about the man who shoots you, so...you know, don't watch if you don't want to be spoiled. :)

Take a look: http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/fallout-new-vegas-videos/fallout-new-vegas-videos/1413991?asid=cb452af1

First MSN, then Yahoo, then.. well, there's no then since there won't be any other developer diaries, but still.. I'm a bit baffled by how Bethesda went for timed exclusives for the last two.

I know right? It's pretty odd, and extra annoying considering how meh the video players on both MSN and yahoo are.

It was a good diary, but it DOES HAVE a decent spoiler in it, may want to edit the OP for that.

At least the video player on Yahoo worked for me. MSN.. oh boy.

Anyway, on the subject of the video, the voice acting seems to be a pretty impressive step ahead compared to Fallout 3, and on at least the same level as Fallout 2. Kristofferson's performance seemed simply amazing to me, while I wasn't blown away by Ron Perlman. He seems to have lost a bit of his edge.

Very good looking. Watched it as I went through character creation for Fallout 3.

Gotta get back into the control scheme so I'm ready for New Vegas after all.

I enjoyed this more than the 5 previous Dev Diaries. I hope there's some more interviewing or behind the scenes of the voice acting within the Making of.. DVD.

BAH, so many interesting voices and yet none of them were the man behind 'Mr. House'. I must now hold myself from crying my fan boy tears of sadness.

Theres nothing odd about it. He is an amazing actor.

Shame, he only gets cast in Romantic comedies.

You know, I'm really surprised they didn't interview or show Felicia Day and/or Michael Dorn recording, or showcase any of their dialogue. They did show both Veronica and Marcus, but dubbed over the footage with someone else talking. Guess we'll just have to wait to hear them, and hear more from the elusive Mr. House till next week.
