The voting was not open until about 36 minutes ago (check the rules tab on that page). they have a 48 hour window of voting each round, then 24 hour period reserved for breaking potential ties.

Whoops, ok. Voted now, thanks mate.

They didn't change it. It's only the plural form of really devoted fan that changes to [censored]

Bethesda has gone up 10 percentage points over the past 18 hours or so, if the trend continues this will be a very close match :)

Wow irrational games beat Creative Assembly? i love total war games. and ive never heard of irrational. It seems all of these lowlife gamers are coming out of the dark to support these random ass companies, hence mojang even existing in round 2. (laughed that they beat nintendo). As well , shows how much people liked the wii. Although Bioware won, they are definately commercial over content. We all know that bethesda is 10 times as artistic, and immersive. And to tell the truth, Bio ware is just about the most linear RPG developer company ive ever seen in my life, and would have lost against treyarch if pitted against im sure. Ah well, im still buying skyrim on 11/11/11, and im taking a poop in mass effect 3 game package and mailing it back to gamestop.

Irrational has been around for years, and it developed by System Shock 2 and Bioshock. If you've never heard of them you should check out their games, they're quite good :)

My bet is on Blizzard making it to the finals for sure. Though I'll vote for Bioware. As for mojang and Valve? Could go either way, my vote is going to Valve though.

I don't think Bioware will have any difficulty trouncing Blizzard in the semi-finals. I suspect Valve will defeat Mojang but a narrow but comfortable margin.

mojang... how I dislike thee.. they are going to win.. this is a freaking stupid contest. Not just saying that because bethesda lost, but because a company that has made ONE game that IMO isn't that great (it might be good but not great) has beaten some of the greatest game developers.... WAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!

The whole thing has always been about which game company has the largest number of fans willing to vote, not who makes the best games.

Of course making good games does help to get a fan base :P

I always forget about this until after it started.

I'm happy to see companies like Zynga and Popcap lost in the first round.

Let's not forget that an annual popularity contest is hardly a lifetime achievement award. Minecraft has been hugely influential for the last 6 months. Did Valve and Bethesda even release a game since the last contest?
It's hardly a surprise that the company with the game everyone's been talking about recently beats out many of those that are for the moment coasting purely on fan recognition.

Valve hasnt made anything in a bit, and L4D2 wasnt that great, yet they will win... Again, becuase the escapist hs loads of valve/bioware/mojang really devoted fan s.

Personally I found minecraft dull, besides notch pretty much coppied another game, I cant remember the name, and made it open world. Also its pretty much lego only you need to grind, I also found it dll becuase there is no purpose, you can build a huge castle, but its not much use.

It really doesn't matter whether you like the game. It's a popularity contest, not "Ratslayer's picks" :P
It's simply that Mojang made a huge splash with Minecraft recently and those other companies... haven't. I'm not surprised Mojang got this far

It really doesn't matter whether you specificly like the game. It's simply that Mojang made a huge splash with Minecraft recently and most other companies... haven't, really.

MC is buggy, and its pretty much like lego, only more grinding. I dont see it as anything new.

When Mojang makes several quality games thats fine, but they made one, and at this point notch may aswell quick and letthe modders do the work, becuase every update breaks thngs, and beds were added last time, modders are faster and more eficient.

Still they will loose to valve, everyone looses to valve on the escapist.

I think they [censored] up the official bracket is wrong (reset).
