Deviant Members Scattered Unknowingly Around Skyrim

Post » Sun Sep 25, 2011 10:13 am

Individuals you know in real-life placed into the game makes immersion greater. Mod characters could possibly impact immersion negatively and nothing can be done to the appearance to make them fit or blend in with other townspeople of Skyrim. Just to tickle your fancy, why not have some of the Deviant team members in the Skyrim game playing characters in side quests but as most of you know side quests often get put off to the side. Deviant team members can give you special items and abilities. Each Deviant member could admit you into their own secret society once you have become allies . You could use them to form your own group or organization giving you tips and assistance on quests as well have them fight, make you money and find valuable resources. They could be stalkers, guards, crazy people, supervillains, clansmen, kids, bodyguards, a cult or strong boss characters. Give you a complete edge against dragons and many other of Skyrim's tough characters. Of course the appearances of the Deviant members in the game will not be so obvious. You will have to figure out on your own who these Deviant members are through clues in the area so not to ruin immersion. An alliance with one of these members will give you rare benefits. Something like this would be best left to the game developers to decide and left unknown to the public only so it can be more effective and not be seen as an "easter egg;" they could then blend into the game. Names will be changed enough to be recognized and to fit Skyrim nomenclature but wont be silly like Todil Horvard. If learning about Deviant members is your thing then that would be the first step to overcoming the challenge of revealing their identities. Go face to face with them in combat or fight on their side.Tell me how you guys would feel about about this and how would this affect gameplay for you. How would you feel about fighting along side the Deviant members or fighting against them? If they were notorious high-risk criminals (serial killers) in the game would you be less persuaded to join them for the benefits?

And please do not give brief and obvious answers; I need to take the good with the bad criticism with thoroughly typed explanations its helpful for the learning process.

Not to me. This is a fantasy game, set in a fantasy world.

So broken. How does seeing anyone I know in real life make immersion in a fantasy game greater?

Deviant team members should include kids, priests, and racists.

What? There are loads of mods with wonderfully done characters that totally have fit into the previous games.. I'm ROLEING a character from a Morrowind mod as a character in Skyrim.. I don't get this thread.

Edit: Oh guys, I think he means devs... as in developers..

Given that one of the poll options references "Todil Horvard" I think he means Bethesda employees - members of the dev team. Not sure where "Deviant members" came from.

I voted for devs as criminals, crazy people and racists - but only as Easter eggs.

Deviant? What?

Either you're talked about Deviantart people, which doesn't make much sense to me, or you somehow think 'dev' is short for deviant instead of developer? :P

I think he means the team that worked on the game? like easter egg characters based on the game developers like the guy who goes WOOPIEEE in MK.

sure, I think there should be some fun references to how negative and boring all the people in this forum are. JUST KIDDING :P -stab-

deviant [?di?v??nt]
adj
(Sociology) deviating, as from what is considered acceptable behaviour
n
(Sociology) a person whose behaviour, esp sixual behaviour, deviates from what is considered to be acceptable

Yeah, guess there should be a few people like that, like that necrophiliac dunmer in OB, not sure if this is what was meant in the OP though?

I don't see an option for just NO, as in NO, no appearence or Easter Egg or anything else, just NO.

I don't mind a few Easter Eggs that are movie or other game related, as long as they are very far between and they don't try to turn the game into a comedy.

...What? Either you want members of the development team in the game which...no, please, or you're saying there should be various sixual predators and kinky fellows about Skyrim?

The developers might put in an easter egg. They did it in Oblivion, although I don't think too many people noticed.

Since the majority of the replies so far have simply been to point out that "dev" doesn't stand for deviant, this thread might be better off if it was restarted. It can keep going, however, providing people post on topic. Otherwise, it will be locked.
